Hi,
I have been trying for ages to get DS to drink water but if offered to him in a bottle he loses the plot with me big time..........so today I tried out of a little cup and he loved it, but because it wasn't a little person cup he got very wet.
I have tried offering him a sippy cup, but I think cos he's little he just was so confused and smiles but does not suck.
So (blimey Fiona get to the point) any cup recommendation something he can drink from but not like a bottle???? If there is such a thing.

We've been using a large plastic syringe and have only just moved to the sippy cup now. He got really good at 'sucking' the water out of the syringe and I could control the flow and now he's really got the hang of getting his mouth round the spout of the cup. Worked for us because at that stage he wasn't taking a bottle and the cup would let the water out too fast and choke him.

Yep we've also had choking, which oddly enough he finds amusing!! A syringe is a good idea, he gets gripe water that way and just sucks it out.

I was wondering the same thing! We have a monster syringe, so I might give it a go too.
When I tried a normal cup Jackson thought it a great joke to put his tongue right into the cup and try to drink it like a dog.... water spilling down each side of him as he went! Heh heh.

Oh, Jackson always drinks heaps in the bath! Sucks water off his fingers like mad. Not really a solution though!!!

We started Cooper off with a Nuk one, I fully recommend these, they have a nice slow flow for little ones.

Caden uses a Mag Mag cup(can get them at babycity), its great! Its little and has handles and you can get a teat for small babies and then a bigger one for older babies, Caden is on the 6 months + teat and its soft and he kind of chews on it to get the water out.

You can try a small plastic spoon, too (not guaranteed to create less splassage!) Although it might be worthwhile persevering with sippy cup even though he gets wet, because as he grows up he will get more control.
