I am sure this has probably been discussed before but was just watching a documentary on 20/20.

I still can't get my head around it and really feel for the child. She may be given unconditional love by the parents but what about going through school - it is not going to be easy for her....

The poor girl will be alienated
They say that they aren't doing it for the money, yeah right, look how many people are at the birth, ridiculous
At least they'll be great parents, much better than some people out there.

I was watching that too. I wonder if they will try to explain it to her when she is old enough to understand. I hope that they dont screw up her life too much. I also hope that they lie low now and let the media hype move on so that when she is old enough she can decide for herself if she wants to tell people about it.   Its going to be so hard for her - poor thing.

From what I remember about school , its hard for any kid, no matter what the family background is.
And quite frankly if they weren't teasing her about that, they'd find something else to tease about , yeah, kids can be cruel , and she'd probably find she would be teased even if she came from the most normal background .
I have no problem with it, so long as they love and provide for her , its not really any of my business , each to their own and all that .

I agree with Kelly - kids can be cruel regardless of circumstances.

I believed them when they said they weren't doing it for the money, I think their motives were honest and they just wanted to share their family with the world as different as it may be.

And as I used to have to tell my own mum sometimes, just because something is 'different' doesn't mean it is wrong... a lot of these things are purely subjective.

i watched that too and found it very interesting......i especially loved the birth. but then i just wanted to gork at the newborn....i'm good like that
did you see all that hair!!!

i don't blame them for getting some money for sharing their story. i would too! help fund her education later in life. everybody already knew about them and were stalking them for pics, so why not get paid for some

who's to say that by the time she's at school, people would've forgotten her name and who gave birth to her......kids will pick on kids for anything, no matter what and that will never change.

good on them...they are loving parents and that's all a kid could wish for

I loved that doco they seemed really nice and caring, the guy had such a fantastic attitude. I loved how the Mum was breastfeeding I thought that was awesome. I don't think they really care what anyone else thinks and good on them for doing it their own way to have a baby.

I'm pretty sure he is pregnant again and why not they seem like a really loving family with the cutest baby why wouldn't you have another.

On last thing, did you see him in labour, it really was taking it like a 'man' lol I couldn't beleive how relaxed he seemed.

I found it quite sad how angry and abusive people got over it.

I think it was really interesting but their daughter doesn't look like she's going to have anything but a normal upbringing (despite the paparazzi). Mum's a mum and Dad's a dad. Dad cringes at poo-ey nappies and Mum breastfeeds......

Actually I'm a little jealous. They have a beautiful baby. Dad was the one who carried her for nine months and pregnancy is no easly slog for anyone. Mum's now the one who gets up for the feeds etc. So it's not just one doing the hard work, they really have shared the load. Seems like a fantastic arrangement.

And who knows? With the amazing advancements of modern medicine, by the time their daughter get's to school Men may actually be able to carry a baby.

The only thing I took away from the doco ? what a beautiful baby she was and how lucky we are to live in an age where the world can be blessed with a beautiful little girl like that, when 10 years ago it would have been impossible .

I completely agree.

Two people fell in love, wanted a child... one was born physically a female but identifies as a male and the other could not carry a baby. So what?

I say good on em. They seemed genuine from what I saw (i only saw the last 20 minutes). And their baby is beautiful and has two loving parents. If only every child was so lucky.

A disturbing case to me is like the one in Australia last year with the father having a baby with his daughter... now THAT in my opinion is a million more times unnatural.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Hi Lou.

I totally agree with you. They seem like very loving parents that will give their children a great life. They will be better parents than a lot of people. Good on them. Wasn't the baby just sooo cute.

I think it's a little weird, he doesn't want to be a woman but has a baby, although there is no denying they are doing it for all the right reasons and she is a cutie, looks like both parents
