This bub will be due end of winter and I'd like to get a couple of merino wraps. Does anyone have any reccomendations for brands? I've been looking on TM and there are quite a few to choose from...

I looked into getitng some of those but they seemed quite pricey. Caden was winter baby and we wrapped him in a flannelett swaddle wrap, and he had all his winter woolies on underneath and he was fine.

I just bought a merino wrap off this trader: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=573214 - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=573214

It's was a fantastic price but I haven't received it yet so can't really comment on the wrap itself.

I've bought a merino wrap and hat combo from the same TM trader, and it looks and feels great, can't wait to try them out when my little one arrives! Really good price compared to most merino products. If bubs likes it, I'll probably buy another one for winter.

JK had some for about $30 - I got a green one - nice neutral colour. I got given one from Nature Baby - lovely but expensive.

Just looked at the link Jo - fantastic price!

Ooh that's good to know, can you let me know how it goes. I'd like to have a couple too but didn't want to spend to much with seeing it first.

I got a baby love merino one, quite pricey but was fab, i could keep my little houdini in quite well. Very soft and stretchy and dried really quickly. I had a JK one to but struggled to keep her in it!

I also got a Baby Love Merino one, and Jackson almost lived in it. I loved it SO much that we bought another set.

Expensive but amazing. I highly recommend them.

We had a merino wrap and Joel could get out of it in about 30 secs no matter how tight I did him up, only used it twice then got the miracle wrap instead.

I've bought a couple in different weights from a Trade Me trader called Scoutie - I've found them the best as they are larger than other traders seem to sell (1m x 1.3m), and size really does matter when it comes to wraps, otherwise bubs can wriggle out of them within a month or two! You can use them as cot blankets when bubs is no longer wrapped too.

Here are a couple of pics of Jackson in his merino wraps. I must say, by the time he was a couple of months old he could start wriggling free.... but they are still so gorgeous!

Has anybody tried the Sweet Cheeks merino wraps? They're on Trademe as well, and they seem really nice and large.
Just wondering, as not sure whether or not to get one. (price is pretty good too)

Global Fabrics in Auckland (not sure if they have branches around the rest of the country) has a big sale on at the moment - 30 - 50% off.

I just bought four 1 x 1.5m / 1 x 2m lengths of pure merino from there for $70 - I reckon I can probably make up to 8 wraps out of it. It just needs to be overlocked around the edges.

They have heaps of colours too.

Bargain!
