Did you have one? Who was he? (she?)
Mine was K, we were together about 2 years but were friends for aaaaaaaaaages before that. All turned to custard when we left school but we stayed in touch for a while and then drifted away from each other as you do. He's the one I randomly wonder about "what is he up to these days?" as we still have mutual friends. He got into drugs big time after we broke up so I always worry I will read about him in the paper or something, or that he's ended up in prison

Mine was DH 
He was going out with my friend, and I remember the first time I saw him. We were at a party and I saw her trying to get him to dance, and he was too shy. I remember saying to our other friend "Ohhh why cant I have someone like that" A few weeks later I saw him again at the bus stop with a teddy and a rose for her, little did he know she was going to dump him  I just thought he was so gorgeous.
Then, she broke up with him, he was devastated, and decided to keep in contact with all her friends just to annoy her. He was always texting me, and I kept ignoring him. After a few weeks I cracked and we became text buddies... and then the rest is history. That was 8-9 years ago.  ------------- Mummy to two beauties... Formerly Kaiz. |

Aw that's lovely Kaiz. I had a few boyfriends in highschool but no 'sweethearts'. DH is my sweetheart but I met him a month after I finished school. I'd just moved into my first flat and it was my flatmates birthday. Her ex-boyfriend who she was still friends with (DH) popped around with a few of his mates and it was lust at first sight for both of us. Nothing happened though, not for a while anyway. My flatmate warned me against him telling me he was a player (she still had the hots for him) and my other flatmate told DH that I was materialistic (he had the hots for me lol) and I was dating someone else anyway. DH pratically moved in, he still lived at home but slept in our lounge most nights and hung out with us most days and in late February 1997 we kissed for the first time. This created a huge uproar and our flatmates got so sh!tty with both of us that we hardly saw each other for a couple of weeks and definitely didn't kiss again. Then we started holding hands and stuff secretly under a blanket on the couch while we were all watching tv at night and since DH wasn't working and I barely worked we hung out together most days. In March we had a one afternoon stand which started a secret affair, I broke up with my boyfriend and DH and I eventually decided we wanted to try having a proper relationship and went public with our affair and we've been together ever since - 12 years and still in lust -------------

That is a cool story!
DH and I met at school originally but as he was a year younger than me I never had anything to do with him. Obviously I was way too cool to hang out with him!! Wasn't until the night after his 21st that we met up properly and 12 years later we're married with our first baby on the way. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Mine is really well known now with sport. but we were primary school sweethearts as well. Went on every school camp together from Standard 3 - and so did our dads - to Form 2. We then went to seperate high schools (me girls and him boys) and kept in touch really well until 6th form when his sport was too much for me (every day, day after day). Now I hardly see him (he is overseas quite often training), but we are friends on FB (like everyone ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Mine is DH too, we were 12 and 13 but at different schools.
We dated for 3 1/2 years, but kind of 'grew apart'. After 18months of non contact and seeing other people, we got back together. A wee while after that we got engaged, then married, then had a child, brought a house and a puppy. My HS Sweetheart is still one of my very good friends.
We became friends at 15 and never actually "went out". Just hooked up (just pashing  ) and hung out lots. And lots. And lots.
We then left school and went in different directions. But we stay in touch and I still love him (as in, he holds a special place in my heat and past) and he feels the same.

Hehehehe, I havent heard that word for ages. MrsMojo, I love your "holding hands under the blanket" story... Thats so sweet. I was warned not to talk to DH too, apparently he was just out to get revenge. I forgot I had a boyfriend just before DH, he dumped me the day I got out of hospital. We were together for 6 whole months (Thats AGES in college years!) Hes STILL with the girl he dumped me for

That's so mean! And, you're right, 6 months is forever in high school years. My boyfriend before my HSS I went out with for 4 whole MONTHS. Wow

I remember the guy I went out before DH told me he "couldnt tell his friends we went out because im ugly" The worst thing was I thought he was great for going out with me based on my personality!

Kaiz...ugly...no way...never!
I cant say I really had a High School Sweetheart. I went to primary school and secondary school with DH and even had a few classes together in art. One time I remember him saying to me 'nice painting' and that was the only time we ever spoke (I said nothing :P) We even went to the ball together with each others best friends, (so I may have has a slight crush on his best friend ) I thought nothing of DH, or I maybe thought he was a bit of a geek.
It wasnt untill we had both left school that I met him a month later and I thought he wasnt that bad. He was singing in a friends band and I that definately hit a soft spot. We stalked each other for about 6 months, I would find out where he was going to be and would find excuses to be at the same place. He worked at Pak 'n' Save I worked at woolworths and yet we both would walk across town on our lunch break just to buy lunch
I think the stalking lasted 6 months before we actually talked to each other and the rest was history. Three months after he finally asked me out I was knocked up and 3 months after that we were married -------------

My HS sweetheart is now my DH too  Although we didn't start officially dating until I had finished high school and he was in his last year (he is 2 years younger). We were friends for about 5 years and apparently he loved me the whole time... whereas I only "noticed" him as more than a friend the year I left high school. We did long distance for a year and then he moved down to Dunedin to be with me and we got married, and now we have baby #2 on the way 
I couldn't be happier even though I never would have seen it all happening back in about 5th form... I would have been like "never!!" LOL------------- Chloe (4 years) and Oliver (3 years). |

My high school sweet heart is my Dh too. I used to go out with his friend and he used to go out with mine, thats how we first met. Things didnt work out for any of us but we all remained friends. DH promised my friend while they were going out that he would go to the school ball with her and he kept his promise!
I however, went to the ball with a friend of a friends boyfriend, cos her boyfriend didnt want to go cos none of his friends were going ( we went to a girls school too). At the after ball party we kind of switched partners somehow (too much beer and not enough manners, though none of us were in relationships). 11 years later, me and Dh still happy together, married for 3 years. My HSS i met in primary. He gave me a ring made out of flax We dated on and off from 12-15 (as much as that age can lol) and always remained friends. Unfortunatly he died in a car accident 2 1/2 years ago I still dream about him tho

My HS is DH too
He came to my highschool when we were 4th form... i did not even notice him till start of 5th form - but he noticed me... i walked home with his best mate all 4th form and apparently DH walked home with us a few times he he 5th form came and we got landed in the same maths class... and hit it off... from there we finally start going out in August... and it was great for the first 2 months then i thought i was in love with an older guy so i dumped DH in october.... so we were still friends and then it came to December and he was going to xmas in the park and i was too. I must admit i made my friends hunt around for him with me... then i found him up the top with another girl - not doing anything just holding hands. i asked him what he was doing (dont know why i thought i could i was not with him) and he was like nothing, so i said to him i will call you tomorrow.... Well i realised i had made a mistake and wanted DH back.. DH rung me the next morning and said nothing happened i think we need to go to the movies.. so we did and watched a movie and it all started again from there... The worst thing was it was coming to xmas holiday adn i was going camping with my family for 3 weeks - Mum cut the holiday short after 2 weeks cause i was so painful and wanted to go home to see DH Been together 11 years and married 1 year ------------- http://lb2f.lilypie.com/TikiPic.php/RPaODBg.jpg |

DP and I knew of each other throughout Intermediate and College and started going out in our last year of college when he started to hang around with my group of friends. We'll be 14 years together in June. I love how there are so many still with their high school sweethearts. -------------

Met my High school sweet heart at 12 and he was 13. He asked his friend to ask me to be his girlfriend...ROFL. We were together without a break up till I was 17 and he was 18 then I ended it as we were more like brother and sister then I found out I was Preg with Miss 13 so we got back together but it just didnt work out. I was very close with his family and his dad always called me his daughter till he passed away. He was a wonderful FIL and was a great Papa to both my girls even thou Miss 8 didnt have blood ties to him he was the first up to the hosp to meet his new granddaughter when she was born. Cracks me up to think if all things we used to think and do thinking we were so mature but we were just KIDS!!!! Looking back is hilarious..... not so hilarious of course if it were my miss 13......... *shudders* |
