The only way I have ever done a curry is with diced chicken breast, add coconut milk and curry powder and bingo, all done.

Now that I'm gluten free I'm pretty sure I can't have curry powder. So how do you do curry? You don't have to list a GF recipe though, I'm sure there are others who would be interested.

I call the shop or open a jar and add chicken lol ...

BM, I checked out the MFD website for curry, and it came up with a range of ready made GF items as well as powder.

Either call the shop we actually have indian takeaway in Feilding now! or make maggi chicken korma, we've tried most of the other tins/jars and theirs is the best

I make it basically the same way but instead of curry powder I use green curry paste, just fry the paste a bit at the same time as the chicken, then add the coconut cream and simmer for a wee bit. Have done it with fish too, I love it cos its so quick and easy and yummy. Don't know if its GF or not though, assume it would be.

I make all sorts of curries, including the pastes from scratch. It really depends how easy/complicated you want to make it.

Jamie Oliver's new book, "Ministry of Food" has an excellent section all on curries... lots of delicious, different flavours. Very user friendly recipe book, great for busy families.

I didnt think curry powder had gluten in it??
Should be just spices.

I sometimes (for a change) fry up the onions, with the powder/paste, then add about a cup or 2 (depending on how saucy u like it) of water mixed with a teaspoon of miso for extra flavour..... then add a wee bit of yogurt nearer the end of cooking. YUM! Obviously the other ingredients get in there too eg chicken or beef, or crumbled tofu is really good too.

I've done a vegitarian version in a preasure cooker that"s always a hit I fry onion and paste together then add Coconut cream and the flesh of one brown coconut and 1/2 cup of rice pp (rice to liquid is 1 to 3) put the top on and leave it to cook for 20-30 min the coconut becomes soft and gives it more texture I usually stir frozen peas through once I take the top off, I'm not sure if its GF as it has rice in it but it's quick and easy and works well in a pinch

i just checked the back of a greggs curry packet and it only has spices in it

coriander, turmeric, cumin, fenugreekm ginger, blackpepper, mustard, cassia, cayenne and cloves

I cook everything from scratch.

I lightly fry the spices (equal parts turmeric, ground coriander and cumin and whatever others I'm using like mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cardamon pods etc), then add onions, meat, tomatos, garlic, ginger and chilli cook til meat is tender then add garam masala and fresh coriander.

Yum!
