Just had a phone call from DH. He just got a ticket for 'failing to come to a complete stop' at a stop sign. The poor man couldn't stop apologising.

The thing is though, he reckons he did come to a complete stop and the cop apologised to him for giving him a ticket.... when he said that he thought he had come to a stop the cop said "we'll not in my opinion". Not a lot you can do about it I guess but it is a waste of $150

Edited to remove dodgy comment

You have to stop for at least 3 secs to be considered a stop. My husband nearly got done for the same thing but the cop let him off

Not dodgy IMO, and noisybaby is correct, you have to come to a full stop (ie: the vehicle is completely still) for about 3 seconds before you take off again.

Oh stink.  That's the only thing my Dad's ever had a ticket for.

Unfortunately it's your DH's word against the cops so although he can argue it it might be to no avail.  If he has a completely unblemished driving record it might be worth a shot but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Ha!  My Dh got a ticket for the same thing a few years ago!!  Dh has never had a ticket before, nor had one since!  Very frustrating to get one for something like that.

My DH has never had one either, and still reckons he came to a complete stop and started again but never mind, it happens!

The worst was our friend who got done for not wearing a seatbelt, when he was wearing a seatbelt. Anyway, not meant as a complaint against the police, I think they do a fantastic job (although in this case I think they have it slightly wrong).
