And we've been in this house for over 2 years.
Now we are moving and renting this place out so I need to clean them. They're grotty.
Do I just use glass cleaner on the inside and water or something on the outside?
Is there some trick that uses vinegar and water and newpaper???
Will someone come and do them for me please?

water and newspaper is quick, cheap and very effective.

Are there no young kids nearby you could offer $5 to do it, we did that with dh's nephew.

I HATE doing the windows too!

I get a company to do ours, it costs $45 and they do a PERFECT job, if I did it it would take forever!

So to me $45 is totally perfect.

I hate windows! By the time I get round to doing them they are grotty. I use a bit of sugar soap and water, wipe with a cloth, sometimes an old toothbrush is good for getting in the corners of the frames. I then use a squegee (sp??) to get the windows dry.
Outside I think DH just uses a brush and water unless they are really dirty and then probably uses dishwashing liquid and leaves to dry

A toothbrush is a great idea, the frames are a bit grotty too.
Alrighty, I will give them a good wash with water and whatever else I can find then clean it off with water, vinegar and newspaper on the inside.
Outside I will used a broom (because I'm short as) and a bucket of water and dishwashing liquid and give it a good hose off.
I wonder if I will find the monivation to do it today while it is over cast.....

For the outside i buy the MR muscle outdoor window cleaner you just plug it into the hose and away you go. I actually enjoy doing the outsdie ones but the inside ones i hate with avengance.

Megan thanks for the tip for using wool wash might try that as we have windows that have to be done at my families holiday home.

i hate windows too! If you put a small amount of methylated spirits in with the water (and whatever other cleaner), that can help evaporate off some of the remaining water marks, so you don't have to dry them as much.

ours are filthy atm!

For fly poop, go to the supermarket... buy the Pam's baby wipes (I found these the best but you could get something similar, Huggies is too expensive and the real cheap ones are full of slimy stuffand leave soap marks!!) and go over the fly poop with the wipes, comes off and leaves the paint etc behind They work a treat.

I don't touch windows (too much hard work!!) so can't help you there sorry!!

I know thats its a horrible job i think especially those inside but it really does make a difference. They say clean windows are more effiecent too they can save money on power bills by letting in the full amount of natural light which is warmth.
