So I have made a lovely big photo book of our wedding photos ready to print some time.

I am thinking, that as we have such a huge huge amount of pics of our girls on digital camera files and discs, as opposed to like, a couple of films printed, that maybe i should make a photo book for every year of their life. I know this might get costlyish i spose but i love the idea of having them all the same, and with more chance of them lasting. that and i am failing miserably at actually finding time to do scrapbook albums of their every little thing. I think maybe carrying on with the scrap book ones for their birthdays maybe and doing the photobooks may be the way to go.

Has anyone else done this and how is it working out so far?

Haven't done it, but I do think it sounds like a great idea! So many people don't print photos anymore and, although I can see why, it would be really nice to have a collection of the very best photos to look back on in a few years time!

I did a photo book for DHs grandmother for her 80th last month. She is really hard to buy for and she was stoked with it. I did it though snapfish and it came really quickly and looked great. It was pretty easy to do (thank goodness ). I think that to do a book for each year is a great idea and might have to nick your idea Janine .

I have. So far, we only have bought 1 for ourselves, as everytime I go to get the next year up, we find ourselves getting another one for someone else - and they aren't cheap.

the boys love them. I'm actually thinking of using some of them to wite stories about the boys. I wrote some kiddie stories for jake - about jake and the horses (when one day randomly two horses turned up in the yard), and jake and the frog - done a few others. so was thinking of making them a storybook each too.

But I love the idea of a yearbook.

we are also doing a family summer book - but will print it out and put into an album as a family one day.

I'm doing yearbooks for Daniel. Only have 1 so far of course. It's all made up ready to get printed but I'll wait for a special. I'm going to do it for his first 5 years anyway

That's what i was thinking - ie we can probably fit 1 - 2 years in one and make it bigger i think so that it cuts costs and means we don't end up with millions.

I have books printed through snapfish also, you can choose layouts you like and how many can sit on a page, love it, they are hardbacks so make gifts for others as well, will have a ton once my wee one comes along!
Mum has also got a few clearfile folders of all our drawings and cards we made her through the years, quite hardcase seeing a placemat I made at kindy when I was 3-4 yo!!

Mum did this too. She gave mine to me when I left home. It's so interesting to look back on - I'm definitely going to do it for my kids.

I've ordered a book through SnapFish, and was really happy with it. I wish they had a few more backgrounds etc, though.

I have done books of my nephews of their first 3 years on all 3 of them. I havent got to do the rest yet but I will get onto it.

I think its a super cool idea and when we have children I will do it for them too. That way when they are older I can give them to them!

Photo books are so super cool - especially when you get them super cheap!
