Sorry, I love this show What did everyone think? Which room did you like the best?
I actually liked both rooms for different reasons. But I think I like the yellow team better

I liked yellow too. It seems to be trendy at the moment to have a floating wall behind your bedhead with the wardrobe built into the back of the floating wall and you walk around the side of it and bathroom is behind it (have been to several open homes recently where the master bedroom has this).
This is what the Blues had but I don't really like this layout. I dislike the idea of having my bed in the middle of the room with another room behind my head, something about it makes me uncomfortable! Just my weird hang ups though

I loved the colours and style of the yellow team!
Did think the whole layout with the huge dressing room was unusual (although I wouldn't mind it myself )
I really didn't like the lime green painting on the brown wall. Other than that nieither were too bad, infact they were pretty similiar.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the houses turn out.

I loved the yellow team, and the idea of having all that space to get dressed was great, if they'd had the budget/time to put the dressing table in there that would have been an awesome space

I liked Yellow team's - and I totally disagreed with the comments about the wardrobe being a waste of space. Not only would it be a great walk-in but you could make it a nursery or put a little office in there.
Also I found their room colours more restful. I don't like acid colours in bedrooms. And I loved their lamps.

I'm with Bobbie on the "waste of space".
It'll be perfect for a nursery or office space, too.
I loved the recess in the wall above the blue team's bed - with the candles.
I love that both had the windows at the foot of the bed.
Hard to decide
*eta: and while we're on the topic - where are their babies?

i loved the blue's choice of colours...apart from the lime..undecided on that too
but yeah...what is it with 'secret' wardrobes? i'm with you Febgirl, i would feel un-easy about having a room behind my head

I liked both rooms. I thought the blues' room was quite artistic with the green in it. I find the yellows very friendly (not that I know them IRL) and if one of those bedrooms were to be mine, I would have chosen their room. I felt that they pulled off the neutral colours well, with "warmth" still there.
But then my ideal master bedroom would have a two-seater couch in it, for us to have time out by ourselves without necessarily being in bed. I would also hope that that way we could chat without DH falling asleep

I hated the blues mirror broken tile mirrors are so outdated. that's two weeks in a row I've voted Yellow. Slighty OT, but we have a glass door in our shower and I use C-Thru Water Spot Remover.
It is the most GENIUS stuff!
Made in NZ (Tauranga even!) and is about $30 from Mitre 10.
A 200gm bottle lasts me a good 12 months as you only need to use it every other week.

OK I have to ask - what is up with blue team's designer? She is so ungracious when things don't go her way. I just about wanted to reach in and slap her last night - especially when she said the high point was getting her way with the mirror because it worked just like she knew it would. Couldn't she just say that she thought the mirror turned out well?

I'm not sure who I liked the most this week but some of the comments the judges made annoyed me. The yellow team decided not to have a tv so why was it commented on that there was nowhere for it. Plus, when they get a tv it doesn't have to be a flat screen. I liked the colours in the blue house but didn't like the layout.
I guess I'll go for yellow again. Interesting about one of the team members leaving the yellow team, can't help your career I would have thought

How will she cope with real big paying clients after her performance on TV?
I find the blue one annoying she has some hang-ups I think, I like MOST home done arts but when you take 8 hrs to make something to hang on the wall & you only have 2 days to complete the project you should think again.

I didn't see the first half but from what I saw she was telling the presenter it could be spectacularly good or a disaster and then she acted all suprised when the blues didn't like the end result.
I doubt she actually asked them but then I've seen good versions of what she was trying to do and so if someone asked me I may have said yes but I still would have been horrified at the end result.

I agree that artwork is quite personal and personally I didn't like the tapestry! Why didn't she just show them what she was doing instead of 'surprising' them with it??? Maybe if she hadn't spent so much time on the tapestry the blue team might have been able to finish things off.
Definitely felt sorry for the yellow team this week with one of their team leaving.
I think sometimes the 'experts' forget that they are there to suggest and guide and at the end of it it's actually the couples that have to live in the house so shouldn't they get the final say in what they want?

They had 3 rooms and put both centre points in one spot. that tabistry i thought for 8 hours work it wasnt that flash i can pop out paintings in 15mins. I think if I was longer and wider perhaps it would've been more efective. But I think they said it would be good for the're little girls room. So we may see it again.
With the yellow architect leaving they stil finished before they needed too, and I thought the reason she was gone was because she was really sick. i remember the yellow lady asking if it was life threatening......??

just don't get why they don't get a replacement(Jane said how will they go the next 6 weeks without her)

Yeah she did say she was "sick" and then now its come out that she isnt coming back! So there is a lot more to that picture than what we are seeing!
I dont think she could cope with people saying no to her - like things she wanted to do but they had to say no because there wasnt the budget etc.
Also she hit the roof when the window was wrong for the bathroom - kept going ON and ON about how if that was a job she was doing the person who got the wrong window would be fired, and that its not good enough etc etc - but hey when the window was FREE what can you do about it! Suck it up!

I liked both living areas but my fave is the yellows again. I feel quite sorry for the blue couple though, the blues really don't have the team network that the yellows have and their designer is really quite snotty. That tapestry was tacky and I'm glad Mrs Blue (Rachel?) had the guts to turn it down. I was shocked at 8 hours to make it too, so hand-dying it makes sense. It made me really wonder though, like someone else has said if you have two days to do a job and the tapestry is going to take eight hours.... why couldn't she have helped out with some of the painting or something instead? The paintings were alright though.
The yellows architect seemed a bit downcast but not catty - I wonder if her being sick is a stress leave kind of thing rather than just having the flu or whatever. I can't really think of what else you would "get" that would take you down for six weeks!! I hadn't heard that Te Ana was pg again, that must be really hard (exhausting) while doing this project! It seems she is not sick though, phew.

Hey all,
I'm friends with Rach & Dave (Blues) and I can't stand their architect - that "rag" was hideous, I'm glad Rach stood up and said no! I'm worried that she's stuffing this up for them because they've worked so hard on this.
And through the grapevine from another friend I heard that the yellows have a large "study" which they made that way simply to make into a new bedroom because they wanted more children soon. Both teams are lucky though, Rach & Dave are living at Dave's mum's house so they can save and the "shoe box" of a house Te Ana & Mike live in they live in for free anyway because Te Ana's Dad owns it.
On last night's show (even though of course I'm voting blue no matter what) - I did like the yellows colour's but I couldn't stand the open layout & the carpet/floor combo they had, and the area was pretty small. I liked how the blues had 2 different areas for both lounge and dining which I would personally have in my own home.
Can't wait for more, it's the hallway & laundry next Monday! :D Open auction is on April 20th (houses are actually all finished, they wrapped up in Nov).

I am totally in love with the yellow's lounge/dining especially the red ceiling!
We have really high ceilings but a pokey and dark dining room other wise I'd be off to Resene paint brush in hand LOL
I've usually got a favourite couple by this stage of the show but I think both couples are lovely and both deserve their houses
I must say though that so far I have prefered the yellow's rooms over the blue.
I 100% with the comments made about the blue's designer - what a freak! She obviously hasn't paid any attention to their tastes at all, just randomly comes up with "stuff" and then throws a tanty when they don't love what she's made I'm so over her already!

I didn't realise they leave it that long - I thought a month between finishing the houses and auction, that's too long!
And having done renovations myself why on earth don't they do it over summer?!?!?!

WOW! Loved the hallway and laundry by the Blues. The artwork was amazing in my opinion, I really loved the deer painting which is a favourite of mine to replicate now!
Disappointed by the Yellows though, nothing special from them this week. :/

I think I preferred the blues also this week, BUT I didnt like the combination of the painting, feature wall and the artwork, I thought it was too many different reds in one space....
C'mon yellows, you are my fav 2!
