A friend of mine walked down the aisle to "From this moment" by Shania Twain, which while I'm not a fan of Shania's, it was a gorgeous song.

I love that song KA

Mine doesn't help much, as it was all traditional (church wedding), but one of my best friends sang "At Your Side" by The Corrs during the signing of the register.

My BIL and SIL had a country and western themed wedding (spit roast for dinner, and we all sat on hay bales), and she walked down the 'aisle' to "Breathe" by Faith Hill and they walked back out again to the theme music to "Bonanza"

Friends had "It Had To Be You" (Harry Connick Jnr) and "Better Together" (Jack Johnson) - and "Happy To Be Stuck With You" for their first dance

I walked down the aisle to This Years Love - David Grey.
We signed the register to Come Away With Me and The Nearness of You - Norah Jones.

We had our first dance to Drive - Incubus.

Oh, Kelly! You're going to have a FABULOUS day!
I would re-live my wedding day over and over, if I could

weegee-Bonanza theme..awesome! great someone has heard of Katie Melua!..DH got so much jib for picking a song with a title like that but he loved this part:

There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact,
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you till I die.

We are twelve billion light years from the edge,
That's a guess,
No-one can ever say it's true
But I know that I will always be with you.

and he's not normally romantic!!:)

anyway so best wishes for the weekend Kelly!:)

I had shania's from this moment down the isle. I tried not to, but it summed it up perfectly. Looks like we made it (Also Shania) for register signing, (by gee I mucked that up! Then I swore - loudly - at a Christian church wedding, go me!) And I'm walking on sunshine for the other way.

I like Jack Johnson's Better Together. That would have been cool.

I walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon (talk about organised I knew I was walking down the aisle to it since the first time I heard it, I was about 12yo, I told DH about it and so he bought a cd with Canon on it and played it in the background when he proposed to me).

When we were pronounced man and wife "Morning has Broken" started playing (I have a really talented friend who played the Cat Stevens version on the piano) and we signed the register to Ave Maria played on the organ by a different friend and sung beautifully by another friend.

We had a bagpiper play as we left the church and again when we entered the reception venue later in the day.

Can't see what your first dance song is Kelly!

I always thought I'd like to walk down the aisle to 'Lets stay together' by Al Green, and my ex-dp and I both thought 'Lets get it on' by Marvin Gaye would be our first dance.

our first dance song was meant to be Lets Stay Together by Al Green... DJ had a little problem LOL - only hick up for the whole day so we just danced away to a song that i cant even remember..

One of my BM clicked on and asked the DJ to play it for our last song of the night so that was nice

I walked down the aisle to "Have I told you lately?" by Van Morrison but it was sung by a friend of the family. I can't remember what songs played while we signed the register, my parents organised it with the friend.

Our first dance was to "(I've had) the time of my life" from the Dirty Dancing movie

I walked down the aisle to "can't help falling in love" by Elvis.
We walked back down the aisle to "counting the beat" by the swingers, only cos i like these lyrics:

Thinking about just you and me, la da de de, there ain't no place I'd rather be
La da de da, la da de da, la da de da, la da de da... and so on.

And our first dance was "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

I walked down the aisle to Coldplays "fix you". Made my grand entrance as it says "lights will guide you...." Makes me cry every time I hear it.

We walked back down to "Beautiful Day" U2.
(DH's pick)

My friend sung during the signing of the register - "I'll be" by edwin mccain. Sounded beautiful with just her voice and the guitar.

Our first dance was "You give me something" James Morrison.

Oooh I loved this part of wedding preparations!!

I walked to Ben Harper "beloved one'

'My beloved one, my beloved one
Your eyes shine through me
You are so divine to me
Your heart has a home in mine
We won't have to say a word
With a touch all shall be heard
When I search my heart it's you I find

My beloved one, my beloved one, my beloved one

You were meant for me, I believe you were sent to me from a dream straight into to my heart
Hold your body close to me
You mean the most to me
We will keep each other safe from harm

My beloved one, my beloved one, my beloved one'

Gone all goosebumpy now - that was nearly 5 years ago and I love that song.

Signing register

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D23sjATRmQw - Arthmatic by Brooke Fraser

Walking out

FORGOT IT RIGHT NOW ... lol I don't consider it as a wedding song as such .
oun
ETA: The reason i don't remember it is - beccause its not the one I wanted - I wanted Accidently in Love by counting crows - DH didn't!

ETA: I must be stalking this thread but it bugged me too much so had to watch (and fast forward) wedding dvd to find out what it was and its

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BgxkYOxE9w&feature=related - Give Me Forever (I Do) by James Ingram

And actually it has lovely lyrics...

Our Wedding Song and first dance

http://www.ilike.com/artist/Van+Morrison/track/Someone+Like+You - Someone like you by Van the man (Van Morrison)

I do like a westlife song and if I can find the cover I shall let you know it (its not one of their popular ones - but it depends if you are into Westlife and your DH doesn't mind - my DH didn't want westlife) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BgxkYOxE9w&feature=related - Give Me Forever (I Do)

Found it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnUhFlxsDhw - Thats where you find love by westlife

Lyrics:

"That's Where You Find Love"

In your eyes, I found the greatest prize
You and I could not be closer
And in your arms, is everything I want
Now I know my search is over

And I don't know where you take me
But it's exactly where I wanna be

[Chorus:]
It's where the stars line up
It's where the ocean's touch
It's in a place you've never been that feels like home
It's in the air right now
It's when you give your all, and give a little more
I've never been so sure, that's where you find love

People pass, and listen to us laugh
Wishing that they had the same thing
And our friends they ask, how we made it last
I just smile and say the same thing

I'm not sure how we got here
Baby I'm just glad that we got here

[Chorus:]
It's where the stars line up
It's where the ocean's touch
It's in a place you've never been that feels like home
It's in the air right now
It's when you give your all, and give a little more
I've never been so sure, that's where you find love
That's where you find love

It's where the stars line up
It's where the ocean's touch
It's in a place you've never been that feels like home
It's in the air right now
It's when you give your all, and give a little more
I've never been this sure, that's where you find love

Find love
That's where you find love

I cant even remember the song we walked into It was a really pretty musical piece which still send shivers down my spine (good shivers!)

We also had Brooke Fraser's Without You. Her songs were so popular when we got married, we had to keep changing it as we would go to friends weddings and they would have the song we planned on having.

Our wedding was a bit of a rushed job and music was one of the things that was left to the very last minute, I loved the songs we had but wondered if we could have found songs with more meaning to us.

We had    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g3YN8qIifM - You Take My Breath Away by Eva Cassidy for walking in. It fit so nicely with the spacing - one sister walked in at the start of verse 1, then the second at verse 2, then me at chorus, and reached the front of the church right at the musical bit before verse 3.

Signed the register to Uncle Sam's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR0bIvPGsUc - When I See You Smile and had a slide show of pics from us growing up. I knew I wanted this song since I was in my teens and heard it on the Touched By an Angel Soundtrack that my mum had.

Walked out again to Counting Crows Accidentally in Love, it just seemed to fit

Didn't have a first dance (had no dancing at all, afternoon tea reception and a BBQ at mum & dad's afterwards).

I walked into eva cassidy's - Songbird its off the love actually soundtrack where Karl and Sara (we are Carl and Sarah) get it on. its also a fleetwood mac song (if your old enough)

and when we signed the register it was switchfoot's - the shadow proves the sunshine

and we walked out to sanctus real's - Alone

Before I arrived we had an instrumental drums/violins by The Corrs. I also walked down the aisle to The Corrs (a violin instrumental).

Brooke Fraser for signing the register.
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica for when we were announced Husbo and Wife.

Our first dance was The Eagles (can't remember the song) and then we had another Brooke Fraser one (can't remember the name either)....

Staind have a beautiful song that would be perfect for a wedding and if I ever divorce husbo and marry him again I want this song. It's from their latest album.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58ohuUw1lBg&feature=related - Staind

You’re my world
You’re my shelter from the rain
You’re the pills
That takes away my pain
You’re the sun
That shines upon my face
You’re the thing
That I won’t compromise

In a world where nothing else is true
Here I am still Tangled Up In You
Up in you

You’re the fire
That warms me when I’m cold
You’re the hand
To hold as I grow old
You’re the light
That’s still showing me the way
[ Tangled Up In You lyrics from http://www.lyricsyoulove.com/ ]
This is my time for me to say

In a world where nothing else is true
Here I am still tangled up in you

You’re the pills
That takes away my pain
Without you
Life wouldn’t be the same

In this world where nothing else is true
Here I am still tangled up in you
Up in you

I’m still tangled up in you
I’m still tangled up in you
