It's best to wait for at least another 2 weeks - it means you have a higher chance of seeing a heartbeat on the screen. I went at what turned out to be 6w5d (same reason as you - previous m/cs) and saw the heartbeats, but less than that you run the risk of not seeing one, therefore causing more worry and the need for another scan.

I agree with Kate. We had ours at 7w1d and saw a blob with a heartbeat!

I know it is nerve racking waiting, we m/ced last time at 5w6d so know its hard waiting to get past that point but it is better to wait so you have more chnce of seeing everything in the right place

and congratulations on your pregnancy!!!

Heya, after 2 mc's I can totally understand why you are wanting an early scan.

My doctor was really understanding and I had early scan this time (9wks) mostly for piece of mind, had slight cramps again, but I think I was making myself sick with worry!!

I had an early scan as we didn't have a clue about dates, and there was no heartbeat so I had to wait the extra couple of weeks and go back for another one. Was very disappointed after the first one and spent a couple of weeks upset and doubting the pg. All was fine after the second, but it would have been easier not to have gone through all that.

Good luck.

I needed an early scan for this pregnancy cause of my previous mc to confirm all was okay. My mw was great and let me have two! One at 6w4 and the second at 8w. Definitely try to wait until at least 6w so that you can see a heartbeat. It is such a relief!

I would try and wait for 7wks - I think it would be worse to go in and not see a heartbeat (cos then they say 'we can't say if the pregnancy is viable' - which believe me makes you worry)
I know my scan place isn't keen on taking bookings until you are at least 6.5wks just cos you can't see enough.

Would your GP send you for HCGs instead, at least then you will be able to see your hormone levels increasing.

I have to agree with everyone else, as hard as it is to wait it really is very early, I would try and wait until 7/8 weeks at least. Think how disappointed you would be you didnt see a heartbeat and the unneccessary stress it would put on you and baby!

I had weekly HCG's with this pregnancy (after prev mc) and that put my mind at ease as we could see the levels going up.
