Subject: Need help finding a dress

I'm going to BIL's wedding in Geveva (swizerland) at the end of september and am needing to buy a dress for the occasion, i think i'll wear a pair of shoes i already have so am wanting to match them to a dress. Bearing in mind we are probably talking a min of 5 to a max of 15 degree's over there and it will be until late at night so am thinking like our march april weather, Oh and with lots of rain.
So am thinking just regular straps not strapless, and with a wrap or cardee.

THE SHOES ($19.95 from no 1 shoes about a month ago (I tend to go straight to the clarence section coz there's alway's 5's there))

I am a size 5 (more like a 4 and a half) so tend to match stuff to shoes coz its easier that way.
There's a bit of grey and white and a dark red and baby pink, as well as it being Navy.
So what colour should the dress be. i hate wearing black to weddings, im sorry but its a cheerful day not a funeral.  So i was thinking silver or white???
Am also thinking I could just make something if i can't find anything appropriate.

That dress is pretty - it'll go well with the shoes

And slightly OT - I was born in Geneva - am jealous that you're going!

I personally wouldn't wear white or silver to a wedding. How about red?

What about a white dress with a black and pink print on it with a wee black cardi/wrap/pasmina. Or pink with a black or white print. What kind of style do you have??

I like that dress, what about adding a navy blue sash to match the shoes a bit more??

I love that silver dress but dont htink it goes with the shoes (which are very cool!).

I wouldnt wear white or silver either. I would tend to go for navy or red - maybe something quite classic to match the shoes (thinking 40s / 50s style chic).

Love the shoes!!
I think either blue or baby pink for the dress.

OT as well, my parents live in Switzerland (near lucerne) and I wish I could go visit!!

Wow that dress is SOO cool!  I think the shoes would look great with the dress.  I think silver is fine to wear to a wedding, but would avoid white.

Ooo its a big no no to wear white to a wedding unless you know that no one in the bridal party is wearing it. Silver would be ok if it was a darker tone of silver, but I think the shoes would look great with a blue dress.

I like that dress, but think you need a different colour, not white or silver remember it is the brides day. I think your shoes are lovely so match them with that & you said it would be coldish & late, what about a 2 piece?
Have fun

How about wearing navy and white, very classic possibly with a red cardie/scarf.

Is the wedding outdoors? You may find its reasonably warm in September. Being end of summer/beginning of autumn similar temp to now

The TM dress is beautiful, but I agree - probably a bit light for a wedding, and navy would look great with the shoes.

Shoes are gorgeous, BTW!

I wouldnt wear white to a wedding, thats the brides thing Any other colour would be fine though.

If it were me, Id stick to black and red for those shoes, white wouldnt go with them anyways(just my opinion....
Id be incliend to wear a red dress, with a black cardi or wrap, or a black dress(my mum is wearing a lovely black dress to my wedding) I dont wear black to funerals so I think black is fine, as long as you team it up with a bright colour, and if you wear those shoes, red would be really nice.
