anyone did this? they came around and interviewed us yesterday........we told them on the phone that if they wanted hubby involved then it will be a family thing were we sit down together ..........so they came with 2 interviewers one for me and one for him.........ok someone wasnt listening especially cause it was the same questions and we had to do it in the same room anyway.
i started to get really p'ed with the phone guys and was nearly going to pull out they kept telling me the same thing over and over........asked how to recognise the house.......(i was in alot of pain that day so really bad timing) i said its the one with a roof and walls dah.........anway felt some of question where pointless and repeatitive i think its a good idea but could have been done better...they read the thnakyou note from the puter which i found really unprofessional...enough of the whining what does everyone else think about this?

Haven't heard about it actually. I know my Dh would do that, he likes taking part in like those important surveys! Especially when they give you gift vouchers for doing it!

A friend told me about it but I am not sure about doing it. If it wasn't for such a long time frame I might consider it but I think that the commitment is a bit too great, especially to commit this baby to it thill they are an adult

I would have done it if I could - the Dunedin survey which was similar design is fascinating and has given some really important information about child development. That said, people who are involved in these studies should demonstrate professionalism. They're probably undergrad students earning some money on the side, but it's really important they try to build rapport with you as the rapport can actually effect the validity of the study (e.g. if you're p'ed off with them, the answers you'll give will be of different quality to if you got on well with them). If you're signed up for the long haul, I'd drop them a note with objective information about what the issue was. And I would just say (yes, wearing my researcher hat) that while the questions might seem pointless and repetitive, it's likely that there are subtleties in the question that will help them in their analysis and making sure that their conclusions are right. But I totally know how you feel
