Hi all,
Just wanting to gauge interest in an idea I have to create a website that hires
special occassion dresses etc. and probably jeans and a few other things to
pregnant women NZ wide so that they don't have to shell out for something worn only occassionally or for a few months.
I would really appreciate any comments, positive and negative about the idea and whether or not it would be something you would consider.
Many thanks

Not sure what part of the country you are in but there is a shop in ChCh that does that. Called Ladybumps - I think the email is lady.bumps@hotmail.com
Might be worth emailing them and seeing what the interest in their hire side of things is like.
I def wouldn't hire jeans etc as just as cheap to buy your own second hand etc but would hire special occasion wear..maybe.

I think that sounds like a good idea. Would it be just a store or nationwide through the net? I had a couple of special occasions when I was pregnant and there are some beautiful clothes out there but they are so expensive its hard to justify for just the once.

Not that I've even had a baby but I think I would hire for a special occasion but not for everyday items.

The only thing about online hiring is that often what looks good online doesn't look good in person so returns/exchanges would be very common so would need to be prepared for that.

I would, for weddings etc when you need something pretty in the right size for a once-off.

My friends own the store in Christchurch and apparently the hiring is very popular especially for 'special occasion wear'. Most people probably don't want to fork out for an expensive dress they may only wear once or twice so it's definitely good to have the option to be able to hire decent good quality maternity clothes.
I agree with the others that I probably wouldn't want to hire jeans etc but special occasion stuff would be worth looking into.
