i am so angery i didnt get into teachers collage, because i havent study for 10 years. i then tried to get into the foundation stidies and they wouldnt let me do that (so will be going to do 2 papers in june) i have tried to geta part time job as i am stugging to servive (realy am) and have been turned down more times then i can count. james dyspraxia is getting me down as life is sturggle for him (inmagie just talking being so hard and people not understanding you) i dont want my child to be teased like i was and bullyed. the thought of him going to school is relly scary to me.i am scared he will be on his own and no one will help him all i want for him is for him to have friends and be happy.
i sit there some time and just pray that he didnt have this then feel guilty as its my fault ghe does. then i read that dyspraxia childern are more likey to turn into loners with low paying jobs or no job and end up leaving school. and they also have a higher suaside rate as they are offened teaseed this is not the life i want for him and will be tryong everything i can to make him a happy and healthy adault but as wee learn we cant be there added to the fact his father is not in his life arrgghhh life is relly suxing right now and yes i know there people who have it worse arrgghhhhhh    ------------- <a href="http://lilypie.com"><img src="http://b4.lilypie.com/nLJ5p13.png" alt="Lilypie 4th Birthday Ticker" border="0" /></a> |

Not entirely sure what I can say or do, except its great to see so much love and concern for your wee one. Can you explain for me the difference between dyslexia and dypraxia? I know people who work with those who have dyslexia who may have a few suggestions? As for study, do not give up! I'm doing my degree through correspondence and gee its hard work!!! But it will be worth it. Could you apply to open polytech / different uni's etc to prove your commitment to study? Where abouts in the country are you? -------------  http://lilypie.com"> |

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time of it lately! Its becoming harder and harder to get by ATM - and finding a job down here with all the job loses that have been happening as well is a struggle as well. In regard to James and his dyspraxia, is there a support group down here that you could join and hopefully find other parents who are going through the same thing. They may perhaps have some really good advice for you. I am not sure of the schooling system and how pupils get assigned teachers aids but perhaps that will be something to look into (maybe someone on here could enlighten you more on that). I know of some children who have really benefitted from the help of a teacher aid and perhaps James could too. Although he has this 'condition' James is a strong minded wee man who I have no doubt stick up for himself at school, he has such a lovely nature! Keep thinking about all his positives and try not to let the negatives get to you (I know thats easier said than done sometimes) As far as the teachers college dream goes - keep on perservering with it, do those papers later in the year and push for your dream cause you can do it!! Do you also have a learning disability or is just James? (I couldn't tell from your post)
I did note that there seems to be a lot of people trying to get into education at the moment (my husband has just started his degree) so unfortunately with that much competition the educational providers can pick and choose the best of the bunch. Keep perservering. Are there any courses you can do that could be baby steps towards your greater goal? ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! Maybe you could find out why they didn't let you in and work on those things. Most educational institutions will give you feedback as to why your application wasn't successful.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but your grammar and spelling are not as good as I would expect from a qualified teacher, and maybe you need to go back to basics, and really brush up on those skills. I am sorry to hear about your son, and I can understand your frustration regarding that. Is there a support group somewhere that you can join?
