Medical scare for Kryssi over, we now have Briona with tonsillitis - annoying but I'm still at the humour stage of our medical visits this week. Anyway her gums are inflammed in the front of her mouth, to the point where it almost looks like her gums are taking over her teeth! They bleed when brushed. Is this just an extension of the infection she has in her tonsils?

I get tonsillitis a fair bit but haven't had that. It is definitely a possibility though. My advice if I was in the same situation would be to, get her to do a salt water gargle and just brush a little and very softly for 5 days to see how she goes.
Poor muffin!
If it isn't better in that time then back to the GP for another visit JIC.

I had horrific tonsillitis until I had my tonsills removed when I was 18, I never had anything like you are describing though.

Okay, well we'll keep brushing them and see what happens after a couple of days of ABs.

I am a chronic tonsilitus sufferer, never had them removed which is mad considering everytime I get sick I get tonsilitis and I have never had what you describe either.
Does not mean its not related though, it may well be. poor wee mite, its a miserable illness, is she very ill with it?
Anti bi's will work pretty quick though

Fiona - she has been on ABs for over 24 hours and she is still getting fevers and just feeling plain miserable. Tonight she had jelly and pears for dinner, she seemed to like that! Although she still isn't very hungry... or should I say, isn't keen to eat a lot. (I suspect she is hungry but the throat hurts.) She had 1 1/2 of the bought jelly pottles and is planning on having the remaining 2 1/2 for breakfast hehe. She seems to perk up at times and then half an hour later is grizzly and hot and complaining of her sore mouth again.
Her gums seem to be starting to settle down, I'm starting to wonder if she had a mouth infection which included her gums and tonsil.... who knows.

Aww poor thing, Jack had it last year and spent a week asleep its really tough on them. I hope she recovers nice and quickly. Sounds like the mouth thing could be related but I'm no Dr so keep an eye on it.
Wow what a busy week you guys have had and at 39 weeks pregnant too Hopefully the next medical adventure is you having that baby

Poor girl is so run down from the tonsil issue, she is now popping out mouth ulcers I can count 5, including under her tongue (on her tongue) and on the roof of her mouth.
Still enjoying jelly and ibuprofen, even if that's all she'll eat...

Oh my goodness I did not notice your ticker saying you were 39 weeks pregnant - busy busy week for you.
Takes a while to recover, when my brother was little and he had tonisilitus pretty much every fortnight until he had them out, soft warm foods were welcome, or cool foods, which meant icecream, but frozen fruit might go down well.
I gave DH tonsilitus when we first met and wow he made a fuss, still talks about it now how ill he got - men huh.
Ulcers - ouch, poor little thing, hope the others don't get it.
