I know that there is probably a slim chance that anyone in here that has had the same thing happen to them but if anyone knows of someone or has any advice it would be much appreciated.
In November last year i found out i was pregnant although i had a IUD in. In the middle of December i had my IUD removed and then about 2 weeks later i miscarried. What im wondering is whether anyone out there has had this happen too. Also whether they had much success afterwards with concieving. I know i have only been trying 3 months and should just be patient but need a little bit of hope that this IUD that ended up taking away my last pregnancy isnt going to affect my chances of concieving now. Or if anyone has had any issues from the IUD itself i have heard a few stories about tears in the uterus etc?
Anyways anyone that can help at all will be much appreciated.

Hi,
Wow, what a weird coincidence! I was just seaching the net and came across this post. I also got pg with my IUD and ended up getting a D&C just today. I was different in that they couldnt' remove my IUD. So they had to leave it in. I got to 10 1/2 weeks. The baby stopped growing at 8 weeks though.
I honestly don't have any answers for you, but I wonder if I miscarried because of the IUD or just a regular miscarriage. The Dr's say they'll "Never know" but um, wouldn't one logically deduce the large tear the IUD created caused it??
I'm also curious about the answer to your question. It's funny we thought we were done but now we also want another. I'm hoping we can try again in July or August but I'm reading they want you to wait 3 months after a D&C and that's cutting it close - 3 months is June IF I get regular periods back right away.
I'm sorry you went through this too! It's maddening huh?

First of all welcome to Oh Baby!
Yea im still not sure whether i miscarried because they took the IUD out (coz it was like 2 weeks after that) or whether it was completely unrelated to that.
Im not sure how many answers we will actually get on here but wanted to put it out there. Google hasnt been all that helpful in finding any stories of what happened to me at all!! Gah Frustrating!! I didnt have a D & C but we started trying again straight away basically.
Have you had your IUD removed now? Youll be able to find other posts on here about girls that have miscarried and had D & Cs and when they started trying again.

Hi guys!
Thanks for the welcome! Yes, my IUD is removed now - they took it out when I had the D&C. I checked it out and it generally seems to be 3 months.
I was told if they can remove the IUD you have a MUCH better chance of a healthy baby but if you're at high risk of m/c for 2 weeks after so for you it also was from the IUD. Then I was told since they can't remove it my risk for m/c was 50%. Stupid me I was pg JUST long enough to think I was in the "good" 50% b/c we had seen the HB, the IUD appeared off to the opposite side, etc.
I was hoping they "couldn't find" my IUD b/c that meant it would have fallen out. and everything would have been fine.

Providing that you have had no infections there is no reason why you couldn't conceive normally after
I was lucky enough to hold on to my baby girl when I had my IUD removed at the11 week mark, it was very scary though.
Amazing how quickly you get attached to a baby even when unplanned.
Big Hugs by the way
