so my MIL is making sheets to go with our hammock even despite that fact she knows we want organic and they are only $9 to buy but what i was wondering is what kind of blankets and bedding you use with your hammock? i dont really know alot about baby beds but i was thinking matress, matress cover, fitted sheet and then a wrap type thing like this one http://www.thesleepstore.co.nz/shop/Swaddling+Wraps/Fitted+easy+wraps/Miracle+Blanket.html - wrap or maybe even just a normal wrap. we have an awesome heat pump through our house so its warm and also an oil heater in our room so i dont think cold will be a problem but i just dont know what kind of blankets babies need especially with a hammck. so to hear what you guys would use and what works well would be awesom. Thanks

The hammock usually comes with little sheet things (they kind of look like pillow cases). Or you could just use pillow cases.
Issy was just wrapped in her merino wrap and popped into the hammock (she was a summer baby)
Elias will be wrapped in his merino wrap then have another merino blanket tucking him in.

Ahh well I would use pillow cases as "sheets" .. they will fit better than trying to get bassinette sheets to stay in place.

We wrapped DS in a miracle blanket and then put a merino glassons jumper over top. The merino top was a bit of a lightbulb moment because all my other blankets were too big!
Just a pillowcase will suffice to cover the mattress. I also used a bassinet mattress protector at the start but took it off because it was kind of plasticky and negated the whole natural fibre thing. Plus it was his wrap that got wet if there were any spills/nappy leaks.

I didn't like wrapping Jack in the hammock so he would just have a blanket over him.
If your MIL really wants to make sheets for the hammock then have her make them like pillowcases, otherwise as the others said just use pillowcases

When Caden was in his hammock(winter baby) we would have him swaddled most of the time and then just a blanket over him, but he only ever nap'd in his hammock, he had his proper sleeps in his bassinet, and then cot as he got bigger.
If it wasnt that cold we would pop him in the hammock un-swaddled and just tuck a blanket around him and under the futon thingy they come with.
Going to do the same with this bub aswell, as she will be winter/spring baby.

Chiara was a winter baby and she was in the hammock till about 3 1/2 mths. I swaddled her in merino then put a merino blanket over her.
And like Lilfatty said, pillowcases make great 'sheets' for the hammock, I used flannelette as it was warmer.
Otherwise, Natures Sway sell the sheets separately for about $20 I think.

I bought some organic cotton pillowcases on special, and then just sewed them down to the right size.
Jackson was just swaddled tight and put in the hammock. When it was really cold I would put a blanket over him, tucked tight under the mattress.
