Hey girls anyone got any pointers on turning a breech baby?? I have been told by my chiropractor that massage is good which we have been doing and Ella hates she throws such a hissy lol but anything else would be great to know

My girlfriend got told by her midwife to lie on the floor with her hips up higher than the rest...On pillows. Then get Dad or someone else to go down by your Bum and sing songs or talk...Apparently they like music and sound so they try get closer and turn somehow!! Eeek give me the willies thinking about it!

jack was breech at 34wks and i was told to get down on all fours and rock back and forth, lean over a swiss ball and rock, don't sit with legs crossed ummmmm i'm sure there were a few other things too that i can't think of right now.

| I remember awhile ago she said something about a swiss ball and sitting upright and not lying in a sitting position on the couch if u get what i mean, but otherwise all she said is "i hope for your sake that she turns and goes into your pelvis in the next 2 weeks" I forgive her not being to with it when i saw her she had a rough week with 5 labours |

Jess try a google search on optimal foetus positioning. I found some good stuff last week as our bubs is facing out with head down. I had this problem too. I was told to lie on my back with my hips up in the air on pillows, or else kneel down with your elbows resting on the floor & bum in the air. Only drawback is you're meant to do it for about 15 minutes at a time twice a day & it gets bloody uncomfortable. My midwife also got me to try pulsatilla (a homeopathic remedy) & acupuncture. In the end none of it worked for me & I ended up having an ECV where they manually turned my baby from outside my tummy. Good luck! ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

i had that done too nic (ECV) but unfortunately it didn't work. they push on your tum and try to turn baby around that way. they think i had a short cord and that's why jack didn't turn. ------------- http://www.alternatickers.com">

I had my appointment with my MW last night and baby is in a breech position as well. And two weeks ago he was head down so im hoping he will turn again in the next two weeks before my next appointment. If he hasn't then i will be going for another scan and shown some exercises to try and turn him....fingers crossed he turns himself. -------------

My midwife never said anything to me about scans etc she just said she hopes for my sake that the baby turns and engages in the next few weeks

jess if she doesn't turn by 37wks, you should be sent for a scan to make sure, that's what they did with jack anyway.

| my midwife told me to not sit on a couch, if i was relaxing at night i should sit straddling a chair, an office chair is great, so the back is pressing on your tummy. it makes it more comfortable for the baby to go the way it is supposed to when you sit that way. i used to sit at the table and do jigsaw puzzles. |

Like Jack's Mum said - to turn the baby they push on your tummy & sort of hold baby's head in position while they push his bum up & kind of try to turn him. It's quite uncomfortable & has to be done by a specialist because there are risks with it. ------------- http://lilypie.com"> http://lilypie.com">

| Alex was in a different position every time I went to see the doctor so at 36 weeks I had to have a scan. We didn't have the 3D scan option but I was very impressed with the scan at 36 weeks.....very clear - you could even see all the hair. When it came to birth time Alex was sideways and luckily the contractions pushed him down so all was fine. |
