Have any of you experienced a creaky back following birth? I have to still be careful when I put my feet up, etc. Will it last for long?

Mine has only JUST got better.

My midwife told me if at 12 weeks I still wasnt back to normal then to see my GP, and that it does take a while.

You will still have so many pregnancy hormones in your body that you have to be very careful in how you move and lift things, sit etc. If you are in pain or uncomfortable I would consider going to see an osteopath, I did after both my babies and it made the world of difference.

im keen to start running at quickly as possible once bubs comes out so had this conversation with antenatal instructor on thurs and she said it stays pretty bad for about 4 weeks as far as general moving and you have to be on the careful side picking up washing and toddlers and stuff right up til 12 weeks cos there is still quite a bit of relaxin in your system.

Would reccomend going to see an Osteopath to help realign everything in your body after the birth.
I'm still having a "tune up" every few weeks to make sure everything is back in its correct placed as I continue to lose my pregnancy weight, plus to sort out a few issues with my knees and hips that my weight gain (due to a severe case of odema) caused.

I'm lucky though as my DH is an Osteopath so I get treated for free.

If you are looking for an Osteopath I can probably reccomend someone depending on which part of NZ you are living in.

I was really creaky for a good 6 weeks post-birth with lil miss, mostly in my pelvic joints tho rather than my back. It was much worse than I remember it being after Maya and the gremlins (as were the afterpains - OUCH!), my mw said that was due to having so many babies in such a short time.

I haven't had any bubs yet but as some of you may know i have just found out why i hurt my knee long story short i have hypermobile joints very flexible. So i asked how does this effet things with pregnancy etc and was told to be carefull althrough pregnancy and while breastfeeding too. As relaxin hormone will still be doing its thing.

Weeks and weeks of loose joints here, but like seems to be the trend, I saw the Osteopath only a few weeks afterwards (my tailbone was somewhat displaced following the birth) and one treatment had me pain-free. Worth a visit for everyone, post-baby, I think!
