to start a 2nd birthday party on a Saturday? I was thinking to start Jack's party at 9.30am till noon thinking people wouldn't end up leaving till about 12.30pm. Although someone suggested that maybe it should be 10-12.30pm.

Jack is normally asleep by about noon. However I am not too bothered if he sleeps a bit later as we have another party that night.

I think DH thinks 12.30pm is a bit too late to finish the party. What are your thoughts? I don't want everyone irritated because the party starts too early

9.30am would probably be perfect for us!

Issys nap time is about 10ish .. but if we get to a group activity that starts at 9.30 she is so occupied that she can last quite happily till about 11.30ish.

Best thing is she will sleep for two + hours after that as she is knackered lol

We only go to things early .. or after lunch (when she wakes from her nap)

9.30 would be ideal for us too. Otherwise there isn't any point in going.

People will probably end up arriving late anyway so I would say it would be better to err on the side of saying it starts at 9.30 with the thought that you might not actually get going till 10. Just my experience with things involving lots of littlies. Have fun!

That's what I was thinking as well. Plus they aren't likely to have all left by noon (if that is the finish time) anyway.

A lot of the activities I take Livvy to start at 9.30 and it seems to suit a lot of people.

If it works for the toddlers, then go for it!

I thought people would arrive a bit late for Ella's 2nd, like they always do for parties - forgot I was planning a kiddies party and not drinkies with friends - kids party rules are not the same! Ha ha... well, everyone arrived on time and I was half-ready for it. Yes, late for a party at my own house. So don't work on the 'they'll arrive a bit late anyway' theory! Someone will, but someone will be on time too, dammit.
