I've just found a recipe for plums for babies like how we give them apples & pears.

What are people opinions on giving plums as a first food or probably a 2nd or 3rd food.

I think I have plums left on the tree & never even thought of storing some for Cooper.

I think it's a good idea, would just have to make sure they're not sour - what's the recipe?
We have a plum tree too, but didn't didn't fruit this year

Ingredients:
2 pounds ripe plums, pitted and quartered

Directions:

Simmer plums, covered, in a large saucepan with 1/4 cup water until tender, about 10 minutes. Transfer plums to a blender. Working in small batches, blend until smooth. Add up to 1/3 cup boiled and cooled water if needed. Pass mixture through a fine sieve for the smoothest texture.

Fill 1/4-cup plastic containers or ice-cube trays with purée.

Use same method for peaches, apricots, and other stone fruits.

This recipe from CDKitchen for Plums for Baby serves/makes 3 cups

I guess make to a consistency that apples comes in?

I'd say that the plums are extrememly ripe by now if there are any left. Might have a look tomorrow, Dog usually eats them all.

Actually any one wanting Granny smiths in Palmy, manky ones but just cut around the bad bits, just PM me.

I did plums for Spencer when he was just starting out on solids (I think plums were ok from 6 months but plunket give out a little guide), he wasn't keen though cos they were quite sour but he had them mixed with some apple.

Yeah just make quite runny, if they are a bit thick when you defrost them you can always mix with some breastmilk.
