wedding anniversary rendezvous!
Can anyone recommend a nice hotel for DH, Alex and I to stay for a night in Auckland? We are planning on a visit to the Auckland Museum the day we come up, so somewhere around there would be great, and then shopping trip the next day.
Thanks heaps

not sure when you are intending to visit but you should check out http://www.wotif.com/search/Advanced?country=NZ®ion=2343&viewType=all&startDay=&accommodationTypeMatch=&roomTypeCategoryMatch=&starRatingMatch=&maximumPrice=&isoCurrencyCode=NZD&propertyNameMatch=&assumedCountry=NZ&selectedSuggestionId=&searchTerms= - wotif
it will give you the best deals - the langham is within walking distance of the museum and is very upmarket - has specials of $199 over easter weekend which is a bargain - the duxton is nice (in central city) and is $119 - if you prefer somewhere in Newmarket for shopping then the Quest is good ($145) and is self-catering which can help the budget
whatever hotel you choose if you are driving into auckland then get one where you can park at a reasonable rate (most of the city ones charge at least $10 per day)
good luck and hope you have an amazing anniversary!

How much do you want to spend?
I can recommend the Westin as complete luxury, but you pay for it. The Heavenly Beds are AMAZING.

I love The Langham, altogh it is on the pricey side. A friends parents booked the Wotif Mystery Hotel for $80 on New Years Eve and ended up at the Stamford which they loved

Linzy-that's good to hear about the Stamford as we are staying there next month. We are getting a free night there through hubby's work.I cant wait!
I actually called them this morning about arranging a nanny for DS 11 months as we have a do in the evening. The first time I'll have left him with anyone but family.
