I am pretty keen on buying http://www.mocka.co.nz/mocka/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=11 - this highchair for my DD who at the moment can only sit unsupported for a few seconds before falling sideways.

I was wondering if anyone has used this chair from about this stage, and whether you have used the harness that is sold seperately, and if it is any good?

Also if any extra padding or cushion was required for your baby when they were this little.

Any thoughts appreciated

Yep, we've got that one. It came with the padding and harness but when Blake first started using it we'd roll a large towel up and kind of wrap it round him and down the sides to support him. We've never used the harness (couldn't be bothered) and we now don't use the padding either as it was always getting food on it and I was constantly washing them. I think we were using it from about 6 months on? (hard to remember now) I think you would definitely need to use a towel or something for support because there is a bit of space at the sides when they're sitting in it if that makes sense. Overall I'm pretty happy with this chair though, it looks good and is pretty easy to clean as well I wouldn't have bought the harness if it hadn't have come with one but I guess that's a personal decision. You could always come and have a look at ours if you like before you buy

I've got this highchair - we started using it regularly when DS was just over 5 months when we started him on solids.

It's not the greatest chair for when they can't sit up properly yet, but I think we bolstered him in with a couple of rolled up towels until he had his balance sorted. We got the padded cushions thrown in when we bought it. Made it nice and comfy, but TBH we stopped using them after a few weeks as they just got covered in food and were a PITA generally.

I bought the harness separately later when it became clear that DS is a climber and just wanted to get out all the time. Its a lifesaver now.

The highchair is great, but i know a few people find it annoying that you basically have to slide the kid into the chair through the gap at the top as the tray doesn't come off. Doesn't worry me as DS is a scrawny wee thing so no problem.

Thank you both for your replies, and thanks for your offer to view, Josephnia

DH went ahead and ordered this highchair and the harness, so we will see how it goes

I love how they have free shipping and throw in the seat cushions and belt for free!
