The thing I'm finding really frustrating is being told a thread doesn't exist when I've just written a big reply post.

Thanks for getting the tech team onto it Emma.

yea, i kinda dealt with the slow thing then ended up triple posting something, then when i went back to edit it i didnt have permission. lol. DH is a software developer so of course everytime a computer wont work i blame it on him.      my poor boy. lol. glad to know it not just me being a bit slow somehow

im guessing that this is frustrating quite a few OB members seen as its been sooo quiet over the past few days!! usually if i dont come on her for a day there will be like 7 pages of threads to catch up on but lately only 3!
nevermind im sure itl be back to normal in no time!

Posted By: Bobbie
Date Posted: 26 April 2009 at 4:12pm
Yeah I got the 'thread doesn't exist' message too and freaked out thinking we'd lost all 708 pages of our Jan chat. I was *so* glad to see it was actually there.

That message seems to come up when the site takes longer than a minute to process the post. And the post does end up getting saved, just you get the message first.

With logging off - ever since last time (a few weeks back) when I got logged off randomly going between threads I can't stay logged in. The 'remember me' box is checked and I don't delete the cookies but every time I leave the site it logs me out.

I keep meaning to come and post here, but I keep getting logged out.

It was super slow during the week, but this weekend has been fine.

Maybe it's the influx of pregnant people..have you checked out the Dec thread

Was getting the 'not existing' thing too.

*sigh* its gotten nearly impossible for me to do anything on the OB site now. Its taking forever to open threads and its doing weird things when I post. Everything is taking so long and being so difficult I'm gonna have to take an OB break til its sorted I think. Its only this site, I can do everything I normally do on other websites.

i know what ya mean babe - every other site i go on seems to be fine and fast but this one takes ages! and i have to keep refreshing!!

about 6 months ago i had the logging in problem and it lasted for a good few months!! thought it was my computer though!

I hope it gets fixed soon because its getting lonely around here! and im sure those on dial up will be having major issues!

Yeah, it is frustrating.
I've been struggling to 'enjoy' myself here since the Sept 08 thread completely disappeared. Still sore about that, we had a lot of history!

I have never been "remembered" even though I check the box. It only remembers me if I go via www.ohbaby.co.nz and then choose "forums".... not if I go direct to the link.

Me too!!!! Although if I'm really lucky (and have previously been in the long way round earlier in the day and left the computer on) I can go straight there *sometimes* - has happened once or twice maybe? I just always go through the main home page now though otherwise I don't bother posting because I have to log in all over again once I've started reading!

yeah spoke too soon. Maybe there were just less people on before.

Slowness is back and I'm logged out again. But yep, if I go through the main page to the forum I'm logged in. So I'll keep doing that anyway.

I was beginning to think my internet connection was playing up, obviously not, glad it's not my end though. Tonight it seems to be a lot better.
ETA I kept on getting logged out all the time to and was wondering each time I went in I kept having to log in again was a pain. I've had that not permission thing to - weird aye.

Ok It's taken me *5* hours to get back on the boards. Admittedly I haven't been trying non-stop but every time I tried to get into Jan 08 I got the 'forum does not exist' error. And I often got the 'server connection error' too.

I used to have this problem, and still do if I go straight to http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/default.asp (which is the forums page), or any page directly. But if you bookmark http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/Messageboard.aspx instead it goes to the main forums page and should remember you as well. Faster than going through the front page. HTH

(Doesn't help with the other issues though!)

The slowness of the site is CRAZY! I normally have a look at the forums on my breaks at work but I can't be bothered anymore because the waiting time after clicking on a thread drives me insane! Could it be caused by the elaborate tickers and large volumes of photos that are being posted?

Posted By: Bobbie
Date Posted: 30 April 2009 at 10:49am
I'd say that has a bit to do with it Sal. Plus we seem to have doubled the amount of members in the last year (not that that's a bad thing)

Thanks for the login tip weegee.

This is what I got this morning when I clicked "post reply" in the Feb 09 thread

"Sorry, this function has been disabled.
This Forum has been locked by the Forum Administrator."

Huh?! It doesn't seem to do that when I type a reply on the same page but then again, I still get that no permission message or a timeout message when I use the quick reply so it's possbl y the same thing really .. so frustrating!
