Since I had my D&C i have been feeling very tired and extra emotional,
I had a phone call from the hospital yesterday, they want me to come in to see a Doctor and have a chest xray and blood test as I had what was called a Molar Pregnancy, Has anyone else had this? I have to have regular blood tests for the next year and chest exray to make sure the cells haven't traveld to my chest I have been told that It can cause the horible C word. My friend had a molar pregnancy and now has a 3 year old boy.
She had the weekly blood tests for a year to check that the HCG levels were coming down and it all went really well. Apparently it's caused by 2 sperm fertilizing the egg. all the best hun and hugs. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I hope your tests come back from the hospital okay - i don't have any experience with molar pregnancies but just wanted to say how sorry i am for your loss and it sucks that you have to wait a year to TTC again.

Brilee I think another member on here had a partial molar pregnancy. I will see if I can confirm that and she if she posted anything. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

wow. i'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's not fun to have to wait sooo long after you've just lost your little one. I dunno why but I'm scared to conceive again after my first one came out so well. I've never had a miscarriage before either. Am I just insane? I'm not TTC yet but feel that I should get started sooner than I would expect (just in case). Has anyone got the heebie jeebies like this? It makes me really mad when you've experienced this and I've just read about this baby that was found in the garbage dump. Ungrateful people. What are these people thinking? I visited the hospital yesterday for Tests,
Turns out i have had a complete molar pregnancy so there was never any kind of baby!! This is good in some ways as there was never any kind of soul so nothing sufferd (apart from me) I am still feeling very tired and have to have regular blood tests and visit the Auckland hospital, I am not sure if i can handle this I work at least 50 hours a week and then have to keep house. I get one day off and work 6 I dont know what to do! Niecey if I was you I would just go for it and put those bad feelings out of your head, you have one healthy baby and have never mc so what are you worried about? ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Well the information I have been given is a little different, one doctor has said I would have to wait one year but another doc said I would just need to wait untill my HCG levels go down to below .2? I am waiting to hear from the molar pregnancy clinic at Auckland Hospital, I have also spoken with my doctor last night (he is a gem even called me after hours) he said he knows alittle about it but will do more research as I will be guided from him he is fantastic! 50 hours is nothing one week I was very close t the 80 hour mark! I worked 8 days straight and all day that turned me into a nut bar for a while! PS your bub is georgus!  ------------- http://lilypie.com">

| Hi. I had a suspected molar pregnancy, I miscarried after my 12 week scan which showed only a sac and no heartbeat. I began to m/c naturally the night after my scan and had a d &c 2 days later to confirm if it was a molar pg. I have since found it wasnt but found that post molar pregnancy monitoring in NZ is pretty good. The time lapse is really only to determine that you can sustain another pg and i bet its well worth the wait, I have 2 friends that have gone on to have perfect pregnancies after a molar one. i know someone who used protection and got preg 5 months after and bub is due very soon and fine..(though was partial) as far as molar preg..have a read of this.. i had high levels after my mc so had suspected molar and read up on it jus tin case.. partial is different ... for full you really do need to wait 6 months to a year..i would go on doc advice:( http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/molarpregnancy.html ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |
