Sorry if you have read this already, I posted it in the pregnancy section as well.

Hi there, I am a kiwi but have been living in the UK for 2 years (Lived in NZ from birth until I was 27). We have been ttc for 3 years and are looking at ivf. You only get one go over here covered on the nhs (Government paid).

Can anyone tell me how many attempts you get in NZ?

If you have already had a go overseas, does this effect the attempts to ttc through ivf in NZ?

Would I be able to use all my records (Hcg, blood tests laparoscopy etc) from London to help my submission for NZ ivf or would I have to be re-tested, i.e. go through the whole diagnosis procedure again?

Any other information about limitations etc would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there - welcome to OhBaby!

I think it is two attempts over here. Maybe it would be a good idea for you to contact Fertility Associates over here and ask them. They have a website www.fertilityassociates.co.nz and I have heard wonderful things about them.

Good luck!

Hi JPS,  I think your records will help you when go for your appointment with the Fertility clinic.  Though they might want to have up to date blood results which are easily enough done.  They will also want a semen analysis of your partner.

If you qualify you have two government assisted ivf cycles, but there is an age cut off of 38 I think...

The appointments don't take too long and you will not have to take off to much time from work to attend them.   Except when you do the introduction (3 hours) to ivf just before you start treatment.

There are threads on the infertilty forum that can give you an idea what to expect.
