Sorry it's taken me so long to share my news with everyone! But as you have probably guessed - baby Joshua is here!! He arrived on Wednesday 3rd May at 8.56am via caeserean section. It was a very long and tough labour. I was induced at 7.30am on 2nd May, contractions started full on at 6pm. I was transferred to the Birthing Suite at 11pm only to find I was only 2cm dilated (grrrrrrrrrrr). Midwife broke my waters at 11pm and by midnight I was 9cm and within 10mins I was pushing.... and pushing! After an hour and a half of pushing I was exhausted, so after my gallant effort - NO PAIN RELIEF TIL THIS POINT (what a fool!!!) - the anaesthetist was called and I was dosed up with an epidural. Unfortunately after this my body decided not to co-operate and dispite being hooked up to a syntocinin drip my contractions basically stopped and my cervix went back to 6cm dilation. At 7am it was decided that due to failure to progress my wee man would have to be delivered by c-section. So at 8.56am, my gorgeous little man - Joshua Hadynn was born, 8lb 1oz, 56cm long. Lots of dark hair, and totally totally beautiful  I will post some pics very soon.

Congratulations! And well done on the AMAZING job you did with labour. To go that long without pain relief is astoundingly super-human. Congratulations again and best wishes for lots of happy times with your new family member.

Aww congratulations mummy.... I can tell you are very proud!! Well done, I see you had it tough in that delivery room but you gave it your best.

Congrats. Love the name choice (notice my first born with the same name Joshua and he was a long hard labour too)

Finally got broadband!! Thanks for all your lovely messages. Liz - he's both Josh and Joshua, and also (mostly) Joshie I'm loving motherhood. He's a really good little man, sleeps well and feeds like a trooper! He's already just over 5kg's! We're getting lots of beautiful smiles and he's really starting to show his little personality.
