I am 5 weeks pregnant and am trying to find a midwife. I have been recoemmeded a few and have been through the list and none of the options can fit me in. I am due in mid/end January which is when lots of midwives are on holiday! Can anyone recommend a good midwife in the Grey Lynn/Ponsonby or even Parnell area?? i am newish to AKL and dont have any family here, so would love to have a fantastic mid wife to help and share with me this amazing time in my life!

They are a bit further away than Grey Lynn/Ponsonby/Parnell but I highly recommend The Midwives in Green Bay Ph 825 0333. They have 8 midwives there that work in teams of 2. I used them with my first although that mw has just had her own baby. I am now seeing Glenda Southey who is absolutely wonderful. Numerous friends and family are currently or have recently used Kirsten, Terri and Carly from there and all are very happy with them.
I beleive that they all deliver at Birthcare as well at Waitakere (where I am going)

Good luck

Linzy, Glenda attended our birth as the back up and she was so lovely. Really really loved having her there. They are all so nice there, maybe too far away? And yes they do have access to both Birthcare and Waitakere.

I would highly recommend contacting the Midwives Collective, they are just down off Dom Rd, in Balmoral, and they are an awesome team!

I travel to GI (from Parnell) for my midwife as she came highly recommended and as my first birth was quite traumatic, finding a great mw this time around was of utmost importance.

She has delivered a number of the Oh Baby Children.

Anyway she is at the Pregnancy Care Midwives and her name is Yvonne.

LOL, I "lent" my midwife to lilfatty (and a few other OHbabyers), and I second her recommendation, Yvonne is brilliant. She has delivered all four of my girls and I wouldn't trust anyone else with such an important job.

Carly at Greenbay is amazing! The clinic is only a 15min drive from Grey Lynn.

I see Carly for acupuncture and agree she is very lovely. Would use Carly if I couldn't have Glenda next time

LOL Manda08, you'll just have to have another baby then, that's what I did . Did you have Hilary as your LMC? She's delivered a few OHbaby! babies too.

I don't know if you have found one but my midwife Brigid Beehan in Pt Chev was amazing. Highly recommend her if you are still looking
