I seriously need a haircut, and I've decided I'm sick of how it is. It's long and curly (not tight curls, wavy curls) and I ALWAYS wear it up in a pony-tail. Oh if we're going out somewhere I might wear it in a half-pony lol.
It needs to be low-maintenance, and I look quite young so I don't want to look like I'm 14. Also I don't want to have to straighten my hair, so something that works with the curls would be good. Oh and I can't have a fringe cos I have a cow-lick and it goes spazz.
Soooo any ideas as to what hairstyle I would suit? Some of you would have seen photos of me, so I thought some people might have some ideas?

oooh fun!!
I'm trying to find a photo of you on your FB page to steal and have a play on hairmixer.com with.
I always play with that when wanting to choose a new hairstyle.
But I love this 'do
Obviously i's Charlize Theron, who we would all kill to look like. But I think you could totally pull that look off.
You have such a lovely face and your hair has enough natural curl to handle the layers and give it bounce without having to spend hours under a blow dryer.
But, when you get time, play with http://www.hairmixer.com - this site . It's fun and will give you a pretty good idea at what will suit

I have a really strong cowlick too and thought I could never have a fringe, however I had discoverd side fringes (with just the right parting) works really well.
I am sure it makes you look older? And looks nice when the rest is up in a ponytail. Layers work really well with slightly wavy hair too.
Ha - I think I have just described my own hair

LOL - i think you've got my hair Liz, just a different colour! I have it cut in layers but am totally sick of it and also totally resent that haircutes cost so much. But that's OT.
Love the Charlize look - it would work well cos you could put it up when you get sick of hair round your face but it would also look fab out. Just one thing with the blasted layers - you need to cut it regulalry otherwise it gets overgrown and manky (like mine at the momemnt).

OK so I'm going this afternoon... at 2.15.... eeek I'm so nervous!!! I think I will go kinda the Charlize look. Fingers crossed it will look ok! I'm contemplating getting highlights as well just to add a bit of interest and be a little bit special, cos i've never had a 'special' haircut IYKWIM.

Lol sorry, photos coming! Just gotta upload them.
So I got a few blonde streaks at the front, you can't see them too much cos my hair is so goldy. I went quite short (well shoulder length) with a kind of fringe type thing but not very short. DH really likes it, I'm still deciding whether I do or not... happy to have a change though.
Anyway I'll put photos in the photo thread once they're uploaded!

Ok photos up, sorry it's really not that amazing. I don't really like it. Wish it was like Charlize's, though I can imagine how much time and how many professionals went into it looking like that!
