Hi ladies, just wondering if any of you can recommend any furniture stores in the Auckland East/South region that have reasonably priced items that are still of reasonable/good quality also?

We're needing to get quite a few pieces (Dining suite, couch, bed etc) and the stores I looked at yesterday whilst over in Botany were far too pricey for my liking!

If anyone could point us in the right direction it'd be greatly appreciated. We're hoping to get along to a Target store & possibly Big Save Furniture tomorrow.

Thanks

I was going to suggest Big Save, we bought a sofa bed and dining suite from them last year and they were quite reasonably priced and seem to be good quality. Hopefully there will be sales on seeing as its a long weekend :)

BestBuys is quite good, there's one in Panmure along the Ellerslie-Panmure highway (if you end up going out that way let me know and call in for a coffee!)

some second hand stores sell some good stuff, some of it even new. there is a second hand place in papatoetoe where we got the chairs for our dining room table for $100 each, new.

check the pricey places like harvey norman as sometimes they sell demonstration models cheaper...

Harvey Norman have got a big sale on this weekend, you might pick up a bargain - check out the stores at Manukau mega centre
for beds try Farmers or Beds R us, is it for yourself? cheap beds are horrible to sleep in and not worth the savings IMO

Bigsave are good because they have pasckage deals with couch, dinding table, etc.

Also if you have a hazelwoods they quite often do package deals with couch, dining, plus bookshelves, tv unit etc.

I did notice that Farmers had couches and dining sets on sale too.

I recently got a 3 seater & 2 seater from farmers for $1300 And i was looking at tanle and chairs for $750 on special but i decided against them.

Im just looking on TM now for that.

I got a bed from bigsave a while ago quite cheap.

Thanks for all your recommendations ladies - I really appreciate it!

After trapsing all around the city we ended up getting a nice (really comfy) 2 seater sofa at BigSave for $399 + $99 for scotchguarding. Got a nice sturdy 7 piece dining suite so I can hold Christmas at mine this year , chest of drawers and a bed for Lucas. Now just on the hunt for a decent chest of drawers for him!

What a mission that all was, but yay 4 days until we get the keys - super super exciting (and expensive eek)! Still yet to do the big grocery shop and pay power bond

Yup it was for the 2 seater alone - although coming to think of it, its prob what one classifies more as a 2.5 seater ...

When was the last time you went shopping for a new couch? - out of the 20 or so furniture stores we went around pricing up things and getting quotes for couches to be made (also 2-2.5 seaters) the cheapest elsewhere was 600 for a couch on it's own and that was with the cheapest fabrics available. 399 was by far the cheapest - I didn't want second hand due do my dustmite/cat/dog allergies and asthma - can't guarantee the previous owners weren't smokers or didn't have indoor pets iykwim.

Nope the special was on floor stock only (they had a couple, some qere quite eccentric colours). The receipt says it was amethyst but it was more like a nice plum colour.

Thats why I paid the extra $99 for scotchguarding fabric protection so that if Lucas spills any form of liquid etc it doesn't soak into fabric, just sits on the surface until you wipe it up :) - much easier to remove marks etc.

I was being a cheapskate too to be honest lol, I only had a small budget to work on to get everything. Thank God for parents/grandparents 21st gifts huh .

On another note I can't believe how EXPENSIVE F2Go is (Forhomes). These kiddies blue/white drawers I was eyeing up (same brand at both places, exact same product) were $179 at the non commercial store, I go into forhomes and they had the same drawers for $299 - I also found the scotch solid pine drawers I'd bought elsewhere for 299, there for $429. Note to self - NEVER ever shop there if I'm trying to save $$$$. I seriously don't know how they can justify that kind of price difference!
