just wondering what else i might need for my baby?
i have a cot, bassinet, sheets blankets (lots), a bouncer, a play mat, a mobile and lots of knitted clothes (waiting till after baby shower to buy clothes) on that note what do you normally get given for a baby shower im not sure? 2 boxes of nappies some milk,powder cause i don't see myself bf at all but u never no i guess. anyway i think that's all i plan on buying some pocket nappies hiring a car seat and getting a baby swing to. your help would be appreciated a lot im not sure wot to get, specially clothes wise what baby's need at the end of winter and summer. thanks lots..... http://pregnancy.baby-gaga.com/">

Wipes, old cloth nappies for spills etc.
Pram Sleeping bags are great for winter. These are good to buy in august/sep when they are reduced at end of winter. And just buy sizes you will need for next winter. Also good to do that with clothes too  -------------

Would definately reccommend the old school cloth nappies. They are great for spills and I still use mine now when DS is having bare bum lunch in his high chair.
I also bought lots of wash cloths from spotlight (12 for $4?). Saves going through lots of wipes and you can never have enough. DS also spent the first few months sleeping in gowns. Although the footsie pyjamas are cute they are a real pain to do up in the wee hours of feeding and changing. Bucket for soaking babies clothes  -------------

I noticed you said you're getting/have got 2 boxes of nappies. Just thinking what size you have got them in, as my babe was only in newborn size for 4 weeks and a friend's baby could only just squeeze into them at birth!  I went onto parttime cloth at around 2 weeks and fulltime from around 4 weeks, and there's no way we would have gone through a whole box of sposie naps - just a thought...
I have recently bought a Moby wrap, and I only wish we'd got one sooner! So finances permitting I would recommend some sort of sling, front pack etc. Means that if babe is a little unsettled I can wrap her up on me and get about doing things, also good if just ducking into the supermarket and i don't want to get the pram/carseat out... Anyway, sounds like you've got everything sussed! |

| Yeah I agree with being careful with buying tonnes of newborn nappies- Isla didnt even fit the huggies newborn size- they cut badly into her legs- but she was fine with huggies in bigger sizes. |

| IVouchers are a good idea to buy for yourself to use later (especially if going to one wage when money may be tighter) and then when bubs arrives you can go shopping! I also didn't buy a lot of newborn clothing I opted to go up a size. |

I agree on the moby wrap. I only got mine when Mika was 9 weeks, but I wish I'd known about them before!
I also second the comment on the gown. As soon as we got home from hospital I send DH to buy another gown (we only had 1). T&T have really nice ones that open all the way down, 100 % cotton and they have a drawstring at the bottom, so you can even close it up to keep their feet nice and warm. Hat. Mika has a merino hat from JK that she's worn every day since she was born (when we go for walks that is). It fits so snugly, much better than other hats I was given. Sudacrem. I use it preventive, and no nappy rash here. |
