Mr 6mo has been on solids for a month. He has two teeth and is teething again... he usually enjoys his solids and has a small breakfast, lunch and just introduced a tiny dinner. Yesterday he refused breakfast, lunch & dinner.. (offered after a bfeed)the same today. He is still feeding from me so is still having his milk. Has anyone elses bubs gone off solids because of teething? Or is there another reason i'm missing??? Thanks :o)

Hi my bubs is almost 8 months (1st tooth almost showing) and she isn't really taking solids too much either and then other times she will gobble.

Hayden is 10mths and always goes off his food when he is cutting a tooth, its usually the first sign to me that its on its way. As long as bubs is okay in every other way and you are not concerned about behaviour in general and he's still drinking well then I'd say in a day or two he should right himself and be interested in his foodies again.

A GP we saw at some stage told me that babies / kids tend to lose the last skill they picked up when they are sore or sick. Maybe that's what happening and it is just teeth. I found that it might not strictly be the last skill, but it always impacts on eating with us. At those times we tend to just go back to softer foods than he is currently eating - puree always works a treat! If it's only a few days though I wouldn't worry too much.

Funny, for the first time ever DS refused all 3 meals today, normally he eats like a horse.
Not worried as he is a very healthy size and totally happy as normal and wet nappies, although now I think of it, no dirty nappies, bit unusual, but he really was happy and drank his milk.
He did have bright red cheeks though and trying to rub his gums on anything he could.

Yep, when they are sore and miserable they favour drinking over eating.

FIonaO that's exactly what happens with Ollie - completely off food, pretty happy and bright red cheeks. We always know when he's teething because of the cheeks more than anything else!

Its nice to know i'm not alone!! Jaye is getting another two teeth at the moment and dosen't want to know about his solids.
He usually has a fantastic appetite and loves his vegies but have found in the last coupe of days a real struugle when it comes to meal times.
