Stop 1080

It Kills

EVERYTHING!!!

It kills so many creatures all in the name of pest control. Does any creature deserve such a cruel death?

Doc and the Animal Health Board use 1080 poison (sodium monofluoroacetate) to kill possums, considered a pest that spreads TB and destroys native trees and bird life.

Why do we continue to poison our pure, clean, green NZ with a class A poison with no antidote? And the effects it has on our environment & ecosystems are not yet known

Why drop 1080 poison in our public water supply catchments when the U.S. manufacturer's recommendations say it should be kept at least one half mile from human habitation, out of any body of water due to its lethal toxicity AND poisoned carcass should be collected & destroyed by complete burning or deep burial at a landfill approved for hazardous waste

Why do we risk our valuable export & tourism industries with this reckless & uncaring approach to pest control?

Before 1080 drops there was approx 70 million possum in NZ. 20 odd years later there still is an estimated 70-90 million possum in NZ

"The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

Thanks if your still reading! I hope its given yopu something to think about. I love NZ & want it to be here (the way I know it) for my children
