I'm going through a phase at the mo of buying dvds on trademe once every couple of weeks and I want some cool ones to buy..
So I wondered whats some of your fav movies?
Some of mine are:
- Shawshank Redemption
- Love Actually
- Saving Private Ryan
- Forrest Gump
I like war movies and ones that actually have a plot but some chick flicks are really good too.

They are really old, but funny as if you like comedy.

These 2 were directed by Clint Eastwood , one is through the eyes of the US and the other is through the eyes of the Japanese.

We have a huge DVD collection, infact we have so many that we loan the DVD's out to friends/family all the time and have to note it in a book to keep track We have in excess of 100 movies on DVD.
DH is a movie freak, can ya tell?

I have that movie too and I have tried to watch it so many times and just cannot get into it

Lol, great minds think alike, the only one on that list that isn't a fave of mine is Saving Private Ryan (do like it tho)
also , Stepmom is one of my fave, I think the acting is brilliant ,and its a beautiful (tho sad ) movie

La vita e bella (life is beautiful) is my favourite movie of all-time so I must recommend it! Any movies with Roberto Benigni are fab!

We have a vaaaast collection too (and never know what to watch).
Definitely Amelie! :D And in the same vein, City of Lost Children.
Others I keep going back to: Office Space, Tommy Boy, Usual Suspects, Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Willow, (these are popular huh!) Ladyhawke, Big Fish, Totoro, Spirited Away, Collateral, Role Models (which is brilliant).
And my (not so secret) shame, Disney movies - everything from the Little Mermaid on. ;)

I heart the old Disney movies - The Lion King etc. The newer ones just aren't as cool (or maybe I'm getting old ).
I also like The Green Mile Glow, and in a similar vein, The Shawshank Redemption.

We've got Utu, Came a Hot Friday, Sleeping Dogs, Goodbye Pork Pie, Quiet Earth, Smash Palace.
We do through phases of what we collect.
I did have a flattie who was into Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino.
Quentin Tarantino movies are popular in our house too

I watched that on the plane coming home from Fiji, I was bawling, my poor husband was all concerned especially since he thought it was a comedy! (well it is.. I just wasn't expecting to get so upset about it!)

Oh and 'he's just not that into you' is a great movie and is along the lines of Love Acutally.
I like romantic dramas best, and also natural disater/end of the world movies. Oh and all those great family classics, like ET, Short Circuit, Chitty chitty bang bang, flight of the navigater e.t.c
One movie I have been looking for online is 'the boy who could fly'.

we have so many movies its not funny, although some are strictly "mine" as DF cant stand them however he did think the notebook was a good movie lol

Try fracture intense but good, we all really enjoyed it. Can't go past the Harry series in my books hehe.
Guess whos coming to dinner hilarious with bernie mac. Higher Learning you need to be in the mood for it though quite a hard watch. Mo money and bootie call classic (kinda black for lack of better words comedy tho) Two can play that game.
We have hundreds as well and I can never remember what we have but never want to watch any of them lol always after something new!

I cried when I was reading Marley & Me the book & I have never cried at a book before . I see it is on Sky Box Office Movies next month so I'll definitely be checking it out - tissues in hand

I went shopping before and came home with the notebook, marley and me and revolutionary road.. the notebook very very nearly made me cry. I thought I had seen it before but I must have been thinking of something else.
