I feel silly asking this i have googled and dont wanna go to far into it as we all know bad the internet can be lol

Basically yesterday i woke up and had slightly pink tinged CM on my liner, then about half way through the day i went loo and wiped and there was like a clear/yellowy snot like CM on the TP, i have had this twice today again to, is this my mucus plug starting to make a move or am i just experiencing heavy discharge? I have been having what i would consider stronger than normal cramps (feels like period cramps) and baby feels like she is bouncing off my cervix.

Appreciate any input here if im still not sure ill call the midwife and talk to her but thought i would ask here first.

Thanks girls

yeah thats what happened to me with kobe, it was my m/p but the midwife this time round did say that it can come away over a period of time and doesnt always mean you are going into labour, more that your body is getting ready but of course its different for everyone and I had Kobe 5 days after that and the pains I had been having the couple of days before hand were actually me dialating!

Posted By: mum2paris
Date Posted: 08 June 2006 at 10:57pm
usually it means that within the next few weeks baby might be on its way.. just shows the cervix is starting to open up a little - enuf to let that come away.. certainly sounds like M/P though.. i lost mine about 5 days before having paris.
can't actually remember loosing it at all before Ayja so no guarantees

AYE!??!? I thought your mucus plug was supposed to be blood tinged (sp?)
Jess I have been getting the exact same symptoms as you and last night I felt that "lightening" where it feels like your whole bump has vanished - came back after a few minutes but I've certainly been getting a heap more discharge than normal and lower back pain which I thought was sciatica. I'm off to ring my midwife.... I wanna know whats going on in there now!

yeah it does normally have a bit of blood in it, mind did. Ive been feeling the same as you Toni, with the funny lightening thing but my midwife said it meant I was probably brewing to use her words but could still be weeks away.

ok, just got off the phone to my midwife and panic over! She said that all of the symptoms are "text book" symptoms of a hormone surge typical with this stage of late pregnancy and that there is nothing to worry about at all I feel heaps better now!

Let us know how you get on Jess

For what its worth, I haven't had a show yet!

With Kiya, contractions started one evening and got closer together and more intense... my waters were broken by my midwife in the hospital the next day, when I was 8cm dilated.

With Josiah, my midwife did a sweep which brought on labour 30 minutes later... at 2:20am the next morning, I was breathing through a contraction when I felt something trickling down my leg... I raced to the bathroom just in time for my waters to break and that was that.

Hey Jess,
Just wondering if you have been getting the "pinching" feeling in your urethra (pee hole)? I've been getting it all weekend and it sometimes feels like I've been holding on too long to pee (does that make any sense?!?!?!)
I'm sure our lil' one has engaged and has it's back right in the centre of my belly. Last midwife appointment (last Tuesday) it was "LOL" which meant it's back was against my left side - I felt the lightening/engagement (the weight came back tho) on Thursday night and I have felt different ever since. All of the movements I'm feeling now are "inside" feelings rather than across my belly like before.
I read this morning in my "What to expect when you're expecting" book - and according to that I'm having all of the symptoms of "pre labour", sounds like you are too.

I don't want to bother my midwife as I'm fine - I just want to know how you know if the baby IS engaged. We've had issues in the past where bubs was threatening to be posterior, so it would be nice to know if it has wedged itself in the right way round

I dont know how you know bubs is engaged except that my midwife asked if it feels really full and heavy really down low but Ive felt like that for ages. Ive been told about 3 times this weekend that Ive dropped so I guess thats a good sign. I seriously thought I would be having a baby this weekend cos I have been feeling so yucky and just like I did when I had Kobe, major back ache that gets really painful every half hour then goes back to a dull ache but still nothing regular or closer together. Got a scan tomorrow so that might shed some light on whats happening.

Posted By: Two Blondinis
Date Posted: 11 June 2006 at 3:05pm
Good luck with the scan Robyn

I wouldn't say I feel heavy "down there" just very achy where I used to get my period cramps and also at the top of my legs. My book said that when you get all of these pre-labour symptoms it could happen tomorrow, next week or next month So I'm trying not to think about it all too much. Got my bag all packed yesterday though, so if it does happen we're all ready to go

I have the heavy feeling and it just feels like somethings wedged in there and bouncing off my cervix along with the electric type shocks down my legs which apparently is all baby engaged. Altho i do get what you mean sometimes i get like a pinching feeling which is baby on my bladder and it feels like u have a really insanely full bladder but u dont lol if u get me?

I got a heck of a fright last night, looked down at my feet and man are they swollen lol looks like a have been attacked by bees lol They are like that now to lolol

Today been having niggly period like cramps that are sometimes uncomfortable and what not but pretty random.

I was thinking more like ligaments and muscles stretching to take the full weight of bubs in the pelvis, hasn't been down that low since it was teeny tiny.

Its the period type cramping that I had with Kobe and have had for the last week and this weekend its really gone to my back which is again just like with Kobe so thats why my midwife thinks things are getting ready but again could still be a wee while yet. I dont remember any contractions as such with Kobe, just the majorly painful back and period type cramps but it was constant rather than every so many minutes but when I had the epi they monitored the contractions and they were regular. Funny how we are all around the same stage and all feeling similar symptons. Maybe this is how you normally feel at this stage, I didnt get this far last time so dont know but better pack my bag just incase aye.

Guys, you're all at 35 weeks - that would be officially placed into the PREMATURE baby pile if you had your kiddies now. Shouldn't you all be aiming to get to at least 38 weeks rather than racing to see who has the first premature kiddie? Pregnancy is 40 weeks for a reason - and the reason isn't to make you guys uncomfortable; it's actually so that you get a fully developed, healthy little person ready to face the world and grow up without the complications or medical intervention often needed for early babies. I get that you are all excited about the prospect of having a little person in your lives really soon, but come on...egging each other on to see who goes into premature labour first - this thread has a warped perspective. You should be supporting each other to go full term - talking about relaxing and talking to your midwives about slowing the process down. Pregnancy isn't some kind of punishment that you should get let out early from for good behaviour - it's a natural process with a timeframe that supports the growth and development of a healthy little human.

Ill be a nice sport here and just say that this is a forum that people talk about stuff and that is just what we are doing! As far as im aware im not making myself go into labour just like the other girls arent.

Anyhow Robyn and Toni pm me your email details and we shall keep in contact there

Hi Jeszika and Toni and Robyn,

There was no intended malice in my post - just a comment in an open, public forum where lots of pregnant, post-pregnant or pre-pregnant people look for advice and support that my wish for all of you (and every one else) is a healthy, well-developed little person. While I understand that you are all bursting at the seams to meet the little people (I've been there myself and will no doubt be in the same place again in a few months), it may take a while for that to happen.

In terms of your comment about not making yourself go into labour early, I notice Jeszika that your ticker regarding a chiropractic induction at 36 weeks is now removed and you haven't posted recently about your midwife 'not wanting you to suffer any longer than necessary' as you had in the past. I wish you well with the remainder of your pregnancy - and that you have a healthy happy little person after a labour free from any complications.

If you are going to post comments in an open forum, then it is open for comments that may differ from your own opinion. I wouldn't expect any less from replies to anything that I say. Anything I don't want commented on, I would post through a private message or other private forum.

Best wishes,
Maree

Oh no keep this thread going. I understand you are not trying to go into labour (not that you can make yourself go into labour), and Im eagerly monitoring your symptoms, thinking oh Ive had that, or not.

Every now and then I get a bit of a numb sensation in my pelvic region and that is suppose to be an indication of engaging, that, and needing to go to the toilet all the time. But this weekend i think he has popped back up and is under my ribs. My belly is also quite lumpy so I dont think he is even in the right position yet. But im not getting nervious just yet.

I didn't think there was any spite in your post Maree, just a few very wise words. Sometimes I get a bit worried too, but it's good to have ladies like you around who have been through all of this before ! That's what I appreciate the most about this forum is the wealth of experience that we can draw upon, and the support. And like I said, I have a Tupperware party to look forward to shortly in any case, and I would rather Miss Erin doesn't make an appearance in the middle of our demonstration LOL

LOL Jax - you could demonstrate the great versatility of Tupperware in its placenta storage and baby catching capabilities. And it's waterproof too - you could save your floors by catching any broken waters in there. Now THAT all would be a Tupperware demonstration and a half.

Emeldee - Im still having the chiro induction at 38 weeks tho im not silly enough to go and have it done at 36 weeks that would be stupid and i highly doubt my midwife or my chiro would be keen for it anyhow, and as for not posting about my midwife not wanting me to suffer anymore than i should have to she still feels the same but that isnt really something im going to update every week. I can appreciate that your just voicing ur opinion but i think in some ways it can be taken many ways as this is the internet and there is no pronounciation as such in which way to take what you say.

You know Jax Maree has a point....the sweet keeper should be a pretty good size for the placenta...how to catch the waters....what can we use?? hmmmmmmmmm.....as she she said....we'll all be there to catch.

Besides seeing as last weeks gossips mags carried a story of a woman who got married during labour...I'm sure you can host one little tupperware party! *lol*

And sorry about making you and addict!! But it is addictive stuff with no real promotion needed and goodness knows you can't beat quality!

I reckon one of the baking / stirring bowls with the splash guard would do the trick ROFLMAO !! And I have no qualms with the quality, it's just convincing Rols to hand over the credit card

I love that you are turning into the ultimate "Mummy" Jax! Bet you wouldn't have thought you'd be hosting Tupperware parties a year ago!!

Hi Maree, I just read your post.
I promise you and everyone else reading this forum, that the only reason Robyn, Jess and I have been posting our symptoms on here for all to read was so that we could monitor each other's progress and also to provide a bit of info for those yet to get to our stage about what to expect (as they don’t tell you everything in the books) and certainly not to egg each other on into early labour. My godson was born at 29 weeks gestation and I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
As I posted earlier Pre-Labour symptoms could be a sign that things could start now or in the next month or so. I don't recall anyone saying they wanted to get any of their babies out in a rush, other than during a light hearted whinge about wanting their bodies back.

I've only ever used this site to get info from those more experienced or to provide info on stuff I have been through - which is exactly what it should be used for and what makes it so great
I totally agree that as this is a public forum and that everyone is entitled to post their opinions, and fully I appreciate any feedback on any question I have posted here.
I just wanted to clear that up just in case anyone else was of a similar opinion.

Well said Toni

How are you feeling today chicka?

It is good to hear that from you Toni.

I just worry about others who come on this forum and read these posts and then feel they should be wishing for an early labour too (and also worry about those who have had preemie babies and feel a bit upset by people who are able to go to full term but complain about it to the point of wishing for a preemie. [Not that you ladies were doing that explicitly.])

It is really nice that you are all at the same stage and going through the same things. Makes it easier to deal with knowing that it is all normal. No one is objecting to that at all!

Best of luck to you all - here's hoping that the weeks leading up to the labour aren't too uncomfortable and your babes continue growing healthy and happy!

I was thinking that too...these girls are only 35+ weeks and I do hope that the bubs stay put for atleast 2 more weeks. But having said that, bub will come when they are ready and there is nothing these girls can do to avoid that........

And also the date thing can be wrong right? I mean they do say 2 weeks either way. So some of these ladies could well be 38 weeks. Who knows?

As far as I am concerned, I wish all ladies who are expecting... a safe labour. And beautiful, healthy & happy babies....when ever they decide to arrive!!

Thanks Nikki - just felt that needed to be said as it certainly wasn't my intention to have people believe I wanted this lil' one out just yet

I'm all good thanks Jess (just trying to work out how to PM you and Robyn with my email addy LOL) haven't had the pinching bladder feeling today but I've got evil backache and haven't felt bubs move as much as normal. I'm also in 2 minds about whether I should tell my midwife that I think the baby is engaged and about the reduced movements?!? What do you think?

Well, if the bub is engaged then it has very little space to move so may be that is why you havent felt it move. Also it could be because baby is facing your back and that can cause the same thing.

However there is nothing better than peace of mind...so go ahead ring your M/W ......

At your appointment your midwife checks anyway doesn't she? She can tell just by feeling your tum.

And bubs being engaged isn't something to be worried about. It's a good thing. Just means that you feel like you have a bowling ball between your legs and have to waddle to walk!!

Yer if u feel baby hasnt moved much today i would call the midwife, at the very least she will reassure you.

I apologise to anyone who was taken by the fact that we were implying we wanted to have premmie babies, that isnt the case at all, mainly just interested in the symptoms we all seem to be experiencing which is good and reassuring to know that we are all on track and doing well. I dont know about the others but i had been told by my midwife to watch out for labour signs and i find comfort in being able to ask on here and relate to women who are due so close to me

jess, toni and robyn i didn't feel that you were all wishing for early babies. i think it's great that you are all due so close to each other and can chat about how you are feeling and what you are all going through.
i've been taking note, as with jack i didn't go into labour so totally don't know what to expect when bubs starts getting ready to make an appearance

Ohh the waddling lol its funny how u dont notice until someone looks at you funny or gives u the "i feel sorry for you" look lol

the only time I notice I waddle is when I'm rushing around and work and get the speed wobbles! LMAO

I'm not worried about bubs being engaged, relieved is probably a better word as it was being awkward and trying to be posterior, lil' minx! lol
I'm still at the 2 weekly visits with the midwife and my last one was only last Tuesday. Just wondered if I should be giving her a heads up (oops pardon the pun LOL )

Ok ive just read through all this and must say Im a bit upset. If anyone thinks that we intend to have or are wishing for prem babies then I hope you are now assured that is not the case. it was more a coincidence that we are all having similar symptons around the same stage so its nice to know we are not alone. I have had a prem baby (6 weeks) so its not like i have no idea about whats involved, secondly Im a bit offended to think anyone thinks Im stupid enough to wish for a prem baby and lastly remember a baby is classed term at 38 weeks and there can also be medical reasons for induction at that stage which is likely for me. Im not risking complications and the life of my baby just to get to 40 weeks.

Toni, Addison has really slowed down her movements in the last few days too and I talked to the hospital about it at my appt today and they said its normal and did a trace and she was still moving heaps, I just didnt feel it. They said to start a kick chart to make sure I was getting the 10 in 12 hours.
From the measurements today she is already 7lb (3102gms) so they think she is heading for 10-11lbs if I go to term but they dont think they will let me go that long (thier decision not mine!)

Okay *deep breath* - I have PMed you my2angels and hope you get what I have said.
To take something positive out of this thread I can see an ongoing great thing that everyone is saying - it's great to have someone due around the same time as you are to compare saggy body parts, interesting discharges and all sorts of other glamourous pregnancy things with. With that in mind, I've seen on a couple of other pregnancy/parenting sites, threads with similar due dates for people to log into. Why don't we set up a couple of threads with things like - Due in July, Due in August etc so that people about the same gestation can go in and support each other?
I'm still a big supporter of free speech and people feeling comfortable being able to post whatever they want to in reply to stuff being said - so if you all disagree with this idea, it's cool too.

I think the "Due in..." idea is fantastic (Maybe someone could set this up so that it remains at the top of this forum so that it's easy to find?)
I felt heaps better knowing that other girls were going through the exact same thing as me and that it's all "normal". I appreciate that our midwives are run off their feet so I'd rather ask advice on here than bug her with every question (unless it was something major of course).

I do reckon a section with due dates would be good but it all depends on how many people would use it etc

I think I've seen the forums Maree is talking about and heaps of people were posting their "symptoms" there. Even if it's just to chat about the fast approaching due date and "what do I do with this thing when it arrives" (my personal fav lol) - it's nice to be able to see that you're not alone with your anxieties

If that's what you guys want, go for it! Start a Due in... thread for whichever month you are due and I will make it a sticky so that it stays at the top.

Robyn, Maya's growth scan at 36w0d put her at 3450g (7lb9oz) and she was born exactly 2 weeks later at 9lb1oz (4.1kg).

Emma that sounds about the same as this baby weight wise, they have warned me that GD babies tend to put on more weight each week so will be interesting to see how big she is at the next scan in two weeks. Her tummy is in the upper 95% percentile at the moment so she is going to be a little tubby, looks like she has really chubby checks too

Great idea about having "due date" threads. Have just started one for Oct!
