I have a 2 1/3 year old boy and a 7 month old...

Hi Rosie
I live down the Rd in Oto so dont have first hand experince with TA daycares but... I have friends who send their son to "Kids to five" on George st & they rave about how great they are.
There is also that new daycare "Baby bears" on Nrth St, which looks fab!

I would interview them all- ask questions, visit them to get the feel & go with you gut instinct

I would want the centre to be clean, tidy & safe, have a current licence, established rules & polices, good ratios, qualified educators, schedule of activites, educators who interacte with the kids & a happy environment.

You  can check out the ERO reports from the centres - think on the Ministry of Ed website??? This will let you know how they go against the standards and any areas they need to improve on.

Cool!!! Thanks for that!

I went and checked out Kids to five today, it wasnt exactly what I would call tidy but at least the kids were allowed to play with the toys etc!!! And all the teachers seemed really friendly and there was heaps to do... I would like to check out baby bears too though so I might do that tomorrow, even just to be nosey!!!

Thanks again for your help.... Anymore info is much appriciated...
