This is a Worlds' First!
Until now, there has been no method of diverting ALL BRANDS of nappies, sanitary and incontinence products from ultimate disposal into landfills. It's difficult to predict how long a disposable nappy will take to decompose in our current landfills. Even with todays modern and sophisticated landfill sites, nothing much breaks down in landfill.
Envirocomp Ltd. and Huggies® Nappies New Zealand, have teamed together to offer this nappy composting service. This will be the 1st commercial nappy composting facility in New Zealand, and to our knowledge, the only one in the world able to compost ALL BRANDS of disposable nappies, sanitary and incontinence products.
Together, Envirocomp Ltd. and Huggies® Nappies New Zealand have agreed to a 3 year sponsorship in the HUGGIES ENVIROCOMP SOLUTION composting operations to be located in Canterbury, close to the Waimakariri and Hurunui border.

I'd pay for it but alas it's not available in the north island. I think it is wonderful though and eveyone should use it so it profits and they build more plants.

I think it's fantastic and I will have to talk to DH to see if we can fit it into our budget! (more likely tell him it will , lol) I knew that they were composting nappies out in Rangiora, but I hadn't realised it was going to be available to Christchurch residents.
I think realistically that it is affordable, as if you take the 6 month option, it just over $5 a week.

I might use the casual one, we only have them in naps at night so I don't think a weekly service will suit us. Definitely going to look into it, I hate sticking nappies out in the rubbish.
