Does anyone know what this means?? I had my anatomy scan today and just reading thru my report and saw this on the bottom "Conclusion: Notched uterines, left increased resistance. Suggest ultrasound at 23 and 27 weeks"
The reason that this concerns me is that the sonographer said nothing about it and given my history of pre eclampsia and IUGR its got me worried.
I have an appointment with my MW on Monday so I am guessing that she will be able to explain things to me but would love to hear if anyone else knows what it might be.
Everything that I have read indicates that this puts me at a high risk of pre term labour, placental abruption and IUGR
Bubs was looking ok today...a little on the small side but not as bad as what DD was at the same stage.
Wish I had seen this before now.....I was feeling really good until I read it.

That's strange that the sonographer didn't mention anything about it to you - you didn't go to Horizon by any chance? (a friend had something similar happen there - they identified a problem with the baby but didn't tell her, she showed up for her next mw appointment and her midwife asked how she was coping with the results - my friend had no idea!).
Sorry I don't know anything about it, but maybe worth ringing your midwife for a chat so you're not stressed about it over the weekend?

Nope not Horizon......I didn't really want to go back there after I got some funny results with DD's nuchal scan. I went to Insight......the sonographer there is really good and I have had him before and he does have a pretty good reputation.
Im not enitrely suprised by the results but just wonder why he didnt explain everything. He did say that I need to be monitored closely.
My MW is referring me to the high risk team at the hospital once she recieves the report from this scan. I might give her a call tomorrow if I dont feel any better.

Thanks ladies.....I think I have answered my own question. I found my scan reports from my last pregnancy and the same thing happened there. So I am pretty sure that I will be having either a prem or small baby....hopefully they can manage my BP better so that I get closer to term this time round. I will give my MW a call today to speak to her about it.

sounds like something a lady in our antenatal group had. it was notched so even though the uterus would stretch properly it had a lip type thing so bubs pretty much had to choose a side therefore not growing as big as he should. he was fine though, they induced her at 36 weeks and they doing well

Well I have just spoken to my MW about my scan results from yesterday. It looks like I will be having either another prem babe or just a very small one. She is fairly certain that I am going to develop pre eclampsia....its just a matter of when, hopefully this time round its much later than last time. There are problems with the pressure of the blood flow to the baby. She is sending an urgent referral to the high risk team today....she was going to do it MOnday anyway but after those results she wants me there ASAP. This is what I was hoping to avoid!!

Oh no, so sorry to hear that. Looking on the bright side, at least you're forewarned this time and can hopefully take measures to keep bubs in there as long as possible. Big hugs.
