Hi guys, I need a little advice please. I know that being tired is part of the deal but I can't keep my eyes open at work and I actually have to concentrate keeping my head up. Do any of you have any advice on might make it a little better...apart from taking a nap in the sick bay...

Ask your MW to give ya a form to get bloods done for iron and B12 levels. If either of those are low you will feel very very tired. Both of mine were low, had a B12 injection and felt completely different the next day

I agree, either iron tablets or fresh air.. I used to struggle after 2pm so started walking around the block, made the day SLIGHTLY more bearable

Up until i was 30weeks pregnant with DD I would get home from work and sleep from 630pm until 630am.

I was always knackered.

Even at work i was napping in the breaks, and sleeping on the train lol

I was never low on anything, so i was just tired from being pregnant, i guess i just needed all the rest.

hi there it sounds like its your iron levels ask your midwife to give you a form to check your bloods, its a very common problem in pregnancy.

This is probably a bit left-field but I reckon regular exercise has really helped me through the early stages of pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what I'll be like later on, but I've kept up my exercise routine (6 days a week) and find if I do miss an exercise day I'm ruined and just want to go to sleep!!

I've been feeling exhausted too. If I overdo things (what would NOT be overdoing things if not pregnant but busy), I am shattered for days. But I notice a lot of it relates to my blood sugars. You must make sure you are eating properly, and regularly. Proper, nutritious food - not junk food that will make you crash...

Mild exercise is helpful IF you have the energy to begin with. Testing iron and B12 is a good idea. And just making sure you have naps and good amounts of sleep. Oh - and just leaving the things that can be left, such as housework chores - and asking for help from others with these things wherever possible. Taking care of yourself. That's all the advice I've read with regards to this...

I am with you on this one too i am constantly tired here too I think its cause I not get as much rest as I did with the other's cause they keep me very busy. I have been taking irn melts that seem to help (I can't take the iron pill's you get on script they too harsh for me)

Yep sounds like your iron levels to me as well. I have this problem big time when Im pregnant and this pregnancy I actually ended up being admitted to hospital 2 weeks ago to have an iron infusion(nasty nasty thing to have), as it was bad( My haemoglobin was 80 and I no stores at all)

So definitly see your MW or Dr about getting your iron checked, as its one of the most important things of pregnancy.

thanks guys, I think I am going to contact my dr and have my levels checked out. I just crashed yesterday. I went home at 10:30 from work as I couldn't do it any more I slept for 3 hours when I got home, had something to eat and slept for another hour and then I crashed by about 8pm for the night...I feel much better today and hubby was so helpful and conciderate. He's been so sweet he cleaned the kitchen and didn't complain about the bland stew I managed to throw in a pot-and it was really bland...had to add lots of tomato sauce
