ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Deep breath....arrrggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Dads cancer back and it is real bad, find out on thursday just how bad, but we have been told not to expect him to see Corys 1st birthday.
My brother tripped over the edge of something in his room last night and put his hand and arm through the window....he is presently at hutt hospital awaiting surgery to get the glass out (he has broken many bones and had many stitches but never had surgery).
We have had to start Rhiannon on a reward chart as her behaviour since starting kindy 3 days a week has been awful (and i know its mostly due to being tired). (but she refuses to sleep during the day), she is doing 12 hours over night but it just doesnt seem to be enough
Cory is doing great
Kent is doing great
But i dont know how much more i can take, its hard enough trying to cope with dad without having to deal with anything else.
sorry guys just having a pity post, just needed to vent a little

so just heard from dad, after spending 3 hours at kenepuru doing xrays etc and being sent to hutt for surgery...they spend 2.5 hours waiting at hutt to be seen and they go.
Nope not going to do surgery, the piece of glass will work itself out in about 6-8 wks....now im happy that he didnt have to have surgery, but miffed that they got mucked around so much by both hospitals.
well at least things are looking up

So very sorry to hear about your dad, I hope some good news will be coming your way on Thursday.
Good that your brother doesn't have to have surgery, that will be one less thing to worry about.

Sorry to hear about your dad, and glad your bro is going to be ok.
I can sympathise with you on the kindy thing...I have noticed Alyssa's behaviour has been pretty atrocious since since she started kindy a couple of weeks ago. What's that about?

Aw Kaz, sounds like you do have a lot on your plate. Don't worry about the arm, my 11yo brother (now 12) had the same thing happen last year and he's done fine. They almost had to reconstruct his skin....*shudder*
As far as Rhiannon goes, you could try keeping her up for an extra hour at night. Might be shocking for the first day or two but hopefully it would help the day sleeping. In some ways it is good for them to drop the sleep, eventually, so you'll have to decide on that one! I find it's ok to engineer an hour's break/quiet time after lunch where they have to stay in their room (or wherever) with books and play nicely and quietly, don't have to sleep but can't come out until I say (which is in an hour but they can't read the time at that age!). Hopefully that helps a bit.

thanks for the advice busymum, we have found it doesnt matter how early or late she goes to bed she is up as soon as the household starts moving.
but i will be trying the quiet time after kindy today

Kazzle, sorry to hear you are having a tough time.
We have just been given a time out teddy, only used it once each on the little ones & they hate as they are not allowed to go till teddy rings, so now all I have to say is, is it time for time out teddy & they snap out of it cause they don't want it. Hope it lasts. My 3yr old gives me an old teddy & says time out mum, so I know they understand.
It might be a good idea to do a book for you kids about your dad, with photos & stories from him, if able. My dad died before my kids were born & I so wish I had little stories to pass on to them from him.
Stay strong & enjoy the moment, cause the rest can be to big to deal with all at once.

i havent read everything.... but wanted to say that we always can take more than we think and in the end we find ourselves being stronger than we thought! i know when we are in the thick of it it seems like we are doing a bad job or its not going right, but it does all work out in the end...and we have to forgive ourselves if we arent perfect!

Called plunket back in this week
not due for another visit till next week, but called them in because Cory is drinking even less formula on the hungry babies one than he was the other one...
so monday im off to the doctors and plunket is pretty sure he has reflux, (he is spilly, and the milk looks curdled as soon as it comes up) and he has only put on 170gms in 8 days and being fully on formula they expected a much bigger weight gain...
oh and with everything else going on she thinks im starting to get pnd so have made a double appointment so i can see him as well.
