When DD was little I had one of these floatation swimsuits for her and it was absolutely brilliant. We used to go boating and she was/is a real water baby.
DS is also a real water baby, and is a very busy boy. We are due to have this next baby over summer and we will likely to be spending alot of time around my M&Ds pool. As i will have a newborn to look after, i thought it would be great to get another one of these swimsuits for DS. Not, so I can just let him loose in the pool, but just so I don't have to hover over him as I have to now because he will just jump into the pool.. I have seen some on trade me, but apart from being ugly, they dont protect the shoulders from the sun. Anyone seen one in a local boutique baby store or the likes? JD it's not exactly what you're looking for, but can you get those floatie devices that are like a backpack in NZ? You can put them on over a proper swimsuit so then you can use a regular swimsuit (with better sun protection) but your DS can wear the flotation device as well.
