I'm sure it is normal.
I'm always truly appalled at how unattractive everything is down there. I always thought men had the worst of it! hehehehe

I understand! I noticed the same thing with Josiah... and my not-so-darling hubby makes comments about something similar happening again... just what I DON'T want to hear!

Yep, I think that the big baby bump that stops you from seeing anything below is nature's way of sparing you from the seeing all the damage that is being done to your nether-regions in the name of child-bearing. If it's any consolation - everything pretty much goes back to normal afterwards...

LOL Becca - aren't husbands great at pointing out things you just don't need to hear? Mine pointed out that to truly make it as a Hindenburg, I'd need to walk around the house making a raspberry blowing noise - otherwise it's just like a silent picture!!!

If you ever get the chance to read Jenny McCarthy's book on her pregnancy and childbirth, she refers to them as the 'swollen blue twinkies' LOL I think it's mostly because of increased circulation in general that things expand a little down there. As far as hedge trimming goes, I made a really half assed attempt the other day in the shower, and then realised I probably should have done it in front of the mirror ! Ah well, I don't think anyone is really going to care when I'm in labour whether things are 'tidy' or not !

Good idea Nikki, who knows how big it will get in another 2 months?!? Gah!!!
Mind you, I think what's even scarier than the 'twinkies' now, is the poor battered and bruised mess afterwards

After my hubby pointed out stretch marks under my bump - I'm living by the "ignorance is bliss" and I'm not even gonna try to look down there!

crikey I havent even attempted to look before or after being pregnant. I attempted to shave the old bikini line the other day and think I probably should have just left it cos cant see what sort of job Ive done, I should have booked in for a wax I think, oh well Im not getting any action anyway so it doesnt make a difference

Posted By: Kelpa
Date Posted: 12 June 2006 at 10:01pm
On the subject of down there...do you think the skin actually stretches and becomes a bit kind of "looser" than it used to be?

I am still procrastinating about my wax...really should go get one done!

I was also reading this articel the other day about bottom bleaching....sounds interesting..gets rid of all the poo stains off your bum!!!! Good grief I did not even know there was such a procedure.

A nice clean...bleached bum hole!! Lovely!

You do have to wonder why someone would need such a procedure unless it was because they couldn't / didn't know how to wipe their bum properly ??

My guts to big to see over it and the mirrors to high to see in it and I am now considering going to get waxed haha professionally.
As for the whole behind situation- I cant see it either haha. except the big butt cheeks. I didnt know they did that sort of stuff- must be from america huh? hahaha just kidding- no offence anyone.

Oh and like everyone else....I'm going with the ignorance is bliss option, I've got a pretty good idea things are swollen but I ain't taking a closer look!

Ive heard of it too but unless you are a porn star or something why would you care, its not like you have to see it at all. i think its just taking things a bit to far

If I was a stripper I'd do it. But then I'm not... so no anal bleaching for me!

*ahem* Now to resume our normal programming...

Nikki - my sentiments exactly !

Still makes you wonder though, if an average person were to have it, WHY would they unless it was because they weren't wiping properly !? Argh !

ok, i wasnt going to mention this, but seeing as there is a topic all about it right here, i will....
I get braz waxing done, and in between i try to maintain it by tweezing. i was tweezing in the bathroom with xanthe one day last week, when she turned around to see what i was doing. she bent down to look real close ( ya know, hands on thighs squinting etc) and said "and what are you picking from your bum?" ( erm, she calls vagina a front bum.... blame her father) anyway, i said "hairs". she thought about that, and then told me "you have a yucky bum" WHAT?????   god only knows what it will be like in the next few months!

Not a fan of shaving because I can't STAND the itchyness from the regrowth, argh - so frustrating ! So I just trim with scissors if I'm not able to go in for a wax.

I use an epilator. But it's too damn painful to get rid of most of it so do the bare minimum.

Posted By: Andie
Date Posted: 17 June 2006 at 6:51pm
Ooohhh an epilator - now THAT'S brave!!  I think the bikini trimmers (like a hairdresser's electric shaver but smaller) are fantastic... worth their weight!

If you wax though do you not get the itchy regrowth?
I dont understand the whole brazillian thing, well I know what it is by why go the whole hog?

Posted By: jax
Date Posted: 17 June 2006 at 8:33pm
I was never as much into Brazilians for the look but for the fact that waxing *eventually* slows down the regrowth and so then you have to wax less often. My skin was always a LOT smoother afterwards too, and at least for me the regrowth was never itchy.

I just cant get away from the whole thought that its to much like a child and would be worried my hubby might like it. Why would you want your wife/partner to be as hairless as a little girl? I know its not necessary the case but it creeps me out to be honest.

Posted By: aimeejoy
Date Posted: 17 June 2006 at 10:19pm
I think most beauty therapists recommend leaving a strip of hair so its not so little girl like...well the three therapists I have had anyway. I used to always get a brazilian done but cant afford it now. Loved it, so did hubby! And not as painful as you think. And prob more people get it done than you realise.

I have had Brazilians for a couple of years but have not had anything doen in ages.Just never get around to it! I always have a "landing strip" cause I think that whole bare thing looks a bit odd!

Next time...... which needs to be this week as we are all going to Preggie Aqua classes I am going to get a G-String Bikini which are great and heaps cheaper than the Brazilian.

When i was in Japan we went to an onsen, which are hot pools, but rather than have your togs on, everyone is naked - it's single sex only. Anyway, the Japanese ladies Imet there, do not seem to believe in any kind of trimmage and it kinda lokos mowhawkish. AND i saw i lady with hair up to her belly button!!!!! Ick.

ewwwwwwww!!!!!!
there's just no need for such hairyness!

i had my first wax for my wedding and just left a 'landing strip' as couldn't bring myself to go the whole hog. hubby loved it and i did enjoy not having to shave for a while..really must do it again someday..just can't be bothered
