3.1kg isn't *too* bad though, mind you, with GD Robyn I can understand why you'd be worried !
Our girl Erin is due July 8th, I can't wait !

hehe Jax I wouldnt mind the 3.1 either if she was coming out now but she still has heaps of growing to do, they say 500gms a week so thats why Im a bit nervous. Plus with the added risk of stillbirth, I think thats another reason they wont let me go past 40 weeks at the most.
It took 2 hours to get a good picture of Addison too, she had her legs crossed and then the cord was in the way, luckily they were happy to keep trying cos they couldnt get some other measurements they needed.
I still have this horrible back ache today wish it would go away.

We did our hospital tour about 2 weeks ago. I'm glad I did it as at least now I know what to expect, but it did freak me out a bit. I have no idea why but I was expecting a nice cosy looking birthing room ?!? The rooms at Waitakere are nice and new but certainly NOT cosy looking - but then afterall.... it is a hospital! *rolls eyes at self* lol

Wow So many July Babies....it will be an exciting month for us! Gosh I cant wait to see all your beautiful babies.
Robyn, I was told at 38 weeks that my bub was already 3.5KG and yet when she was born she was 3.425KG. She was very healthy and happy. So they do get the weight right all the time. I do hope that she is easy to push out. I am sure you will have a lovely birth!

Toni - Yep um i think it goes this way if you have an independent MW you will be in Te Henga ward and if your MW is based at the hospital your in the Piha ward. I will be in Te Henga.
I have decided that Bubz will come home in a white suit, hat, booties, and wrap that was brought for me by my cousin on the weekend from Patch. She decided she would get me motivated to pack my hospital bag by doing that, she also got me a pair of PJ's and slippers..... I'll take a picture tonight and post it tomorrow if i remember.

Thanks for clearing that up Deez - we had a tour of both wards and weren't told anything about who went where or why. Even after I asked if there are so few birthing rooms what happens when they are all full. The answer was "off to Northshore" Which further cemented my fear of giving birth on the Harbour Bridge!

I'm due 1st July We had our hospital tour on the 2nd week of our antenatal classes (that was 5 weeks ago now! Hoping hubby can remember where to go because my baby brain has let me forget hehe).
We've got a very cute pink outfit with mice on it for bubs to come home in, though we do have a very cute soft green and white suit that is also a possibility... And then there's also that small chance that the sonographer got it wrong when he said 'girl' so hmmmm... I think it's probably safer to take a few outfits!

we have a pink outfit sorted out, will post a pic later if I can. Our midwife has told us about 5 times to make sure we have something knitted to bring her home is so apart from the wee outfit Ive brought will put her in a hat and jacket my nana knitted before she died and my neice came home in last year. Then will probably put her in one of those sleeping bag things and ten thousand blankets! actually I dont have many blankets for her, must go out and by some.

Hey girls
I got a fright this morning i woke up and 5 mins later my midwife was here to check on my pudgy feet, she took my blood pressure which went from a nice 90/60 to 120/80 so shes told me i have to watch out for particular things and if it happens to call her and shes gonna drag me off for bloods etc for Pre-E eek! DAMMIT!
But on the lighter side baby is in the perfect position and she said if we go to full term she will be about 7 and half lbs to 8lbs.

Underneath the clothes of course is the blanket I have to rug her up with even more, just in case its particularly cold !

And to top it all off I've got evil heartburn AND the middle of my back is sore on the right hand side only! (I have no idea why?!?!)

You could try having look at some mags, and cut out some pics of styles/fringes you like- then stick them on your fridge for a week,..and see if u still like them then! My hairdresser made me do that when I went in wanting to cut all my hair off ages ago- I did get it cut,...and loved it!

If all else fails, it grows back!
I got a fringe last time I got it cut and now I want to get it much shorter! and I wanna cut my hair like the chick from the nivea advert. (She's a little nuts, jumping around everywhere, but her hair is cool!)
I'm all for a change in style, providing you are open to it you can end up with something really cool. (Just make sure it is with a hairstylist who will cut something that suits you - not someone who cuts something just because it's trendy at the moment. Grrrr.)

She is really nice and only charges $10 normally but used to work in a top salon charging $40 plus. Im really happy with it, now just have to dye it cos Im so grey!

Stressed to the max!
Look at what I had to email out to an office full of men this morning!
Sorry to start the week with a whinge….. BUT
Can I please ask that when we are short staffed on a morning of a course that EVERYONE helps out to get things ready BEFORE the attendees arrive.
I would have appreciated a hand this morning as I can’t waddle as fast as I used to and don't expect to have to ask for help 3 times and still be ignored.
That was at 8am this morning! Not nice! I'm now in a foul mood and have bad heartburn
Hope your day has been better than mine

I had a midwife appt to, she said baby is still quite high so I have to do lots of walking to get her down. She is going to write a letter to the hospital asking them to induce at 38 weeks because it is the hospitals decision now not hers unfortunately. They have said they would probably induce around then anyway so if all goes to plan I could have a baby by next weekend, bit scary really. I have a scan on Friday to see how much she has grown and then see the hospital next monday so hopefully they will make a decision then.
Feeling pretty good today, just sooooo cold here I want to go back to my warm bed but Kobe wont sleep so alas I dont get to either.
Did you all have good weekends?

Hope your feeling better now Jess. I was walking around the mall today and had to stop every two minutes cos I just felt so full, busting to pee, sore everything, cant really explain but it was just so uncomfortable. Had a message on my phone from my midwife saying she had a letter from teh hospital telling her they were going to induce me no later than 39 weeks if not before so she rang them and said she wasnt very happy with that and wanted me induced at 38 weeks and they said they will make the decision on monday. I said if they decide to go at 38 weeks would they do it the same week as making the decision and she said yes so working on that I could have a baby by next weekend! Yay Im so excited but trying not to get my hopes up, either way though it would be the following weekend at the very latest if she doesnt come by herself before then.

Ugh.. cramps, that's no good Jess!! I only woke up once last night which was fab!
Had a ob appointment this morning. He estimated baby was a little over 7 pounds at the moment and no such luck with her head being engaged. Boo hoo! He's away next week which scares me a little bit though I don't know why because he's not going to be at the birth unless something drastic happens (touch wood!). I have a midwife that I'll ring to do the usual checks next week for peace of mind but my next appt with the ob will be 3 days after my due date! He said 'I'll see you then, if not, before then at the hospital' -- that part really hit home!! Eek! Scary it's almost here...

man I hate the cramps. Its funny though cos I can sleep during the day (which thanks to Kobe I dont really get to do) but at night there is no way, last night at about 1am I was thinking do I get up or do I just keep trying to sleep. Sometimes in my sleep I roll over to fast or something and my tummy gets left behind and man does it hurt, feels like Ive pulled something.
Oh well, not long for any of us now! Its a bit scary and of course exciting too.

thats how far baby is engaged, Kobe only got to 2/5 before I went into labour (not that it means labour is around the corner unfortunately) how odd, my midwife has still booked a fortnightly appt although she said that we will probably be delivering before then anyway.
Its sooo cold and yucky here today and Im bored, Kobe is bored and we are driving each other crazy, well he is drivign me crazy

I'm home sick with a nasty cold (totally my own fault for sitting out in the rain at the rugby on Saturday night ) and I just got my Fuzzi Bunz nappies, so I just spent the afternoon putting all those together and finding a home for them all in the nursery . All we need now is for hubby to finish the cot and then a baby

I had another one of my http://www.bellamama.co.nz - Bella Mama massages today, and ohhhh... what bliss !! Had a good chat to my massage therapist this time too, and learned a lot of things, as well as deciding she might be able to come and massage me during labour - an idea she said she has had as wanting to get into professionally, but would do it as a support person for me (to build experience) Also discussed acupuncture as a method of induction to try before anything else, if bub is a bit too comfy in there LOL We will also focus on my acu-pressure points to help further prepare my body for labour, at my next massage - my last one too I couldn't be more grateful for being able to have had them regularly, they have helped so much, and really put me in a good mood afterwards LOL And it may be TMI, but have been having even more fun with leaky boobies today, if it keeps picking up I will definitely have to break open the breast pads ! In a way it's quite reassuring though, to know I will have a good supply of colostrum and milk for Erin when she arrives.
And Toni - hurry up and get better lady !! Lots of Lemsip with honey, water, panadol and rest - stat !! I know how yucky it is to have a cold, but it's great when it's finally gone.
Yay for bub being at 2/5 as well, my girl is sitting in about the same spot - and boy do I ever feel it LOL
Anyway, off to pick up my wonderful husband from work soon, ttfn !

Jax that sounds bliss, i have a friend down here who does pregnancy massages and has offered one for me but to be honest i cant be assed lol
Lol at the leaky boobs, i havent had that yet am a little paranoid but no that it doesnt necessarily mean that nothing will be there.
I might ask my midwife if she can tell me what ellas position is instead of just saying "shes at the brim" lol like that means much to me haha
Still having intense cramps that come and go randomly, my friend whos had 3 kids reckons they are contractions and my body is getting ready....only time will tell.
Well im off to murder the cats damn things keeping me awake when i need sleep grrr
Toni - take care chicka look after yourself!
