So I thought I'd start off the November thread... judging from the Due Date List, there's a fair few of us due then!
I'm due with #3 on Nov 11... got my (2nd) 20 week scan on 29th June and we are hoping to find out what gender Bubs is then. I say 2nd 20 week scan because from my LMP I was due 13 Oct, so I went for a scan last month to find out my dates were a cycle out!

Ohhhhh, I'm here!!!
I'm due on the 22nd November, with our first child. Got my next midwife appointment on the 23rd of June, and shes going to give me the scan referral form then, so imiagine I'll have my next scan in early July
Still havent felt any kicks yet, but hoping that will start soon. Now that I'm not suffering from Morning Sickness as much, it would be reassuring to feel kicks, just so that I know baby is there!

Hi I am due 28th Nov with baby #3. Go for our 20 week scan on July 11th. We probably will find out what we are having but not telling anyone - even my other kids as 1 they wouldn't be able to keep a secret and 2 I wouldn't make them :-) also my daughter wants it to be a supprise (shes 8) Very exciting though. I have felt the baby kick for the last two weeks - I thought before then I could but the midwife told me I shouldn't be able to. I am alot bigger this time around than I was with both my other two so I hope my dates are right.

Hi Guys
Had scan on Wednesday and all was good. Little baby was kicking around and sucking its little thumb. We didn't find out gender. - a bit tempting but we decided a few weeks ago to have a surprise.
I have a bump picture but am not sure how to attach it - will ask my husband later and post it. It was taken a week ago and I have definitley popped out a bit since then! Amazing how much things change in a week.
Hope you are all well and have good weeks.

Quick question - do you attach a picture as a hyperlink?

Nope, with the code starting with [IMG] - if you use the buttons where you write the post - click the tree

You also need to use a photo hosting site like http://www.myonlineimages.com - www.myonlineimages.com or http://www.photobucket.com - www.photobucket.com . (those two are free).
You sign up for an account, download your picture to your account, then paste the [IMG] code they give you into a post here.

God baby been kicking heaps lately. Sunday morning got Hubby to put hand on belly but he couldn't feel it - not strong enough yet.
Had talk with my boss today and she is sure when its time for me to go back to work (after having a year off) I can come back part time - name my hours so this is great as I work full time now and I knew I didn't want to go back full time but like my job so wanted to go back if I could. Its good pay as well. Still in the planning stage but at least I know she is open to it.

can i junp in here? i am having a december baby, but i dont think there is enough dec ladies around on this site.....
and as for bumps, i am not sure if i am more embarressed or proud at it - its huge! Last night at work we were all getting sized up for new uniforms. My boss was asking what size i will want, and i didnt know. the uniforms wont arrive for another month, and who knows how big it will be by then. She asked if i could compare it with last time, and i shamefully admitted that the bump is slightly larger this time round.... considering i dont think i even had one yet with #1.
hope all are staying well and happy.

Good luck getting your uniform sorted out... it's difficult to know how big you'll be a week out never mind a month out! I've popped out at different stages each time so far.

Its taken until the last couple of weeks for me to start getting excited about this pregnancy. I was more relieved everything was alright than excited when I had my first scan last month.

I think the reason I have struggled to even remember I am pregnant some days is because of my postnatal depression. I think that having a name to call Bubs will make it easier for me to bond with them... and also make it easier to introduce the concept of another sibling to Josiah!

You've done well to get the names down so quickly Millie. We have heaps of girls names but are still struggling for boys. we have a few down but nothing jumping out as yet. Are you keeping yours a secret or are you happy to share your thoughts?
Xanthe's Mum, I had to laugh about the uniforms. I can imagine what you mean. So hard to judge how you will be in a month - it just seems to change so quickly. Up until a week or so ago I could still hide the bump with my clothes (and just look like I had put on weight) but now all of a sudden I have popped out. - No one could mistake it now!
Becca, having a name will be cool for your other child - makes it real!
Hope everyone is keeping well. I am starting to get a bit of back pain in my upper back which is annoying.
Am going to see if midwife will refer me for some physio when I see her next week.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this so hope its ok to jump in here.
I have my second baby due on November 10. I don't have a bump yet, can't even tell I'm pregnant myself. I had morning sickness really bad and lost 10kg at first so maybe that's why. I didn't really show until 7mths with Emily but I could tell myself and I had definitely grown out of clothes by this point. Right now I still comfortably fit my pre-pregnancy jeans!!
At least I don't have to go out an buy maternity clothes. I was pregnant through the summer with Emily (had her in the US) so my maternity clothes won't really be appropriate.
We have the 20wk scan this Friday which is really exciting. We will be finding out the sex too so I can't wait.

Welcome tothe November thread Naomi and Xanthesmum!
Naomi, you must be really excited about your scan on Friday! Hopefully, bubs obliges and reveals all for you to see...
Becca - your scans not far away either, so not long to wait now. I'm sorry to hear that your been a bit down with PND.
And Katie, I'm glad to hear that your went well!
I can so relate to everyones comments about feeling more releived, than excited, with the 12wk scan. I was exactly the same. It all seemed a bit of a blurry memory, I was just so happy to see the heart flickering away, that I dont think much else seemed to sink in. So now, I'm really looking forward to my 20wk scan. Got a midwife appt on Friday, so she will give me the form then.

I didn't actually have a 12 week scan... my first scan was supposed to be my 20 week one, but when we got ot the appointment the stenographer said that based on Bubs size, I was probably a cycle out in my dates and was actually nearly 16 weeks instead of being nearly 20 weeks as my LMP said!

Hi everyone
Just got back from my scan and all looks good and normal. And its a girl just like I thought it would be.
Hubby was a little disappointed not to be having a boy but it will be nice to have two girls so close together and the bonus is that we have all the clothes already!!
I would put a photo of my bump up but I don't have one yet so it will have to wait.

as far as names go we've got a list:
ABIGAIL
AIMEE
HANNAH
KAITLYN
RACHEL
SARAH
TAYLOR
but we are still open. We need kind of interesting first names because our surname is so plain (which I love actually). When we were having Emily we knew before we even got pregnant what her name was going to be but this time we aren't so certain.
Any thoughts or other name suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi all,
Thought I'd jump in a join the fun. I'm due 2 Nov with my second child, had my scan on the 9th June and we are having another little girl. Have been feeling lots of kicks since about 15 weeks, and DH can feel them and you can see my tummy moving too. I have been able to feel were bubs is lying aswell, a lot more than first time round.
Have no idea were to start with names, but now we know its a girl at least it narrows it down. DH was a little disappointed that its not a boy but he loves her just the same, and it does make it more economical having 2 of the same.

Feel better today thanks - back at work. We have basically picked the names we like but haven't totally decided - my SIL is due to have her baby on sat and we are waiting to see what she has and what she will call the baby before deciding - I said I didn't want to dib baby names before her so letting her pick first - although haven't told her the names we want for the same reason (and the fact part of me doesn't want he to say oh I like that name and have it - I doubt she would do that but just in case.....

My 20 week scan was yesterday (at 20 weeks 5 days).
The scan itself went well. The technician said everything was as close to 100% as could be reasonably expected while still pregnant! The baby is about 17cm Crown-to-Rump, and looking good. We got some good pictures, so I'll try to get them scanned in with my BIL's scanner some time in the next couple of weeks. If it doesn't work out then, you'll all just have to wait until after we get back from Tauranga and I can use the school's scanner.
Oh, and it's a boy! We've chosen the name "Xavier Max".

I've got my scan on wednesday, and am starting to get really nervous about it. I'm not sure why, but I always seem to get really nervous in the lead up to midwife appointments or scan appointments!
Oohhh, I reckon I might have felt my first baby movements on Friday night! We went 10 pin bowling, and the music was quite loud. I felt a sort of funny feeling in my tummy, almost liek baby might have been doing flip-flops? Sort of weird feeling. Hopefully thats the start of the movement, and it will become more regular now?

if it felt like flutters or bubbles in your belly - that will be the baby - since this is my third baby I knew what it felt like so I have been feeling the baby kick for 3 weeks now. pretty cool and they will get stronger. Hope all goes well at scan, I've got mine next week - can't wait - taking my older two so they will think its great and this is hubbys first child so he will be amazed - makes it more real.

Just thought I'd let you all know that I had my 20wk scan on Wednesday. Baby is doing well, and he (yes, I said he - we're having a baby BOY!!!! ) was a wriggly wee thing during the scan - wouldnt stay still for very long at all! But somehow the scanner person managed to see all the necessary things, and get the appropriate measurements, so we are stoked!
Discovered that my placenta is anterior, so that is why I'm only feeling dull movements at this stage. The scanner person said that I should start to feel more movement over the next few weeks and not to worry, because baby is certainly very active in there!

Scan went great. baby seems all fine - she said she was getting the radiographer to look at the scan and let our midwife know the results in a few days time - is this normal? I am on the understanding that if something wasn't right they would let you know striaght away???? Funny when doing the heart beat baby had the hick ups so cool to see move on screen. We got lots of photos - my fav would have to be of baby feet (so cute) that measured 3cms.and pic of head (looks so alien like hehe)
Kids thought it was cool.
Another thing cool happened today _ I finally got my full licience - I have had my restricted for 7 years so bit the bullet and went for it. Lots of driving but I passed Yay!!! I only told DH that i was doing it incase i didn't pass (you never know)
Anyway hows everyone doing? Baby kicking heaps? Getting bigger. I feel huge but not nessecaryly feel pregnant if that makes sense? I have had a really good pregnancy I must admit.

Yay on the scan Ann, if there was something wrong I'm sure they would have let you know, they probably need a few days to write the official results for your MW. And the feet definitly are the cutest. Congrats on the drivers licence too.

I'm glad to hear that all went well with your scan Ann. Yep, they told me that they were forwarding the results to my midwife as well, so I guess that must be the norm. And big congrats on passing your drivers licesnse! Well done!

Hi everyone
I am due on November 17th with my second baby. I have a 2 year old boy called Sebastian who is a big handfull at the moment, gotta love the terrible 2's!!
We found out at the 20 week scan that we are having another boy, so now I just have to find a name. With Sebastian we had his name before I got pregnant, and we have a girls name. This one may not have a name until he's born.

Thanks everyone and welcome Debz. Boys names are harder than girls. We have already settled on both names although can't share for the same reason can't tell the sex of the baby (close friends on here too) and want to supprise.
I am glad it is the norm for them to say they will get someone else to look and then inform my midwife. The person who did the scan was really nice and she said as far as she can see there is nothing to worry about. with being a bit of an older mum (33yrs) and not having youth on my side you begin to worry about these things as with both my other two they didn't day that.
So where is everyone from? Shame as far as I can guess no one is from Taranaki? Hence I am.

Welcome to the site Debz. I'm also having a baby boy, and are finding it quite hard to settle on a name we both like. Girls names seemed to be much easier... Nevermind, theres still plenty of time!

Thanks Nikki... we got home this morning. Left Tauranga at the rediculous hour of 4:40am!!! in the hopes that the kids would sleep... took nearly an hour, but they finally nodded off... then we had breakfast in Taupo at 6:40am. Got home just after 9am.
Josiah has spent most of the afternoon asleep!

Kind of... Kiya spent the night with my parents one night, but the second week Nat, Kiya and Josiah all got sick one after the other so we didn't really do much.
We did take Kiya tenpin bowling though... she had a great time! Anyone in the Tauranga area looking for something to do on a Sunday or Monday night, Fraser Cove Tenpin has a deal where you can hire a lane for an hour for $20 including shoe hire and up to 10 people can play! We got two lanes (less people per lane means more games ) and had an enjoyable evening with my parents, my sister, and a friend of ours.

First post - sorry I was a bit slow on the uptake! Due with our first baby on November 15th, 24 weeks now, been feeling really good, didn't have morning sickness (thank the stars!) especially because, following on from the work question, I'm self employed, and applied for paid parental leave which was only introduced for self employed in July. I'm 33 too - I guess that is old-ish, I hadn't thought of it like that! We have a very kicky baby on the way - slightly above average baby according to the scans - I'm a small person and my husband is big and tall, bump is quickly following suit! Happy and healthy vibes to all the November babies and their Mamas

Hi Suzi, we must be due the same day, might even be in hospital at the same time (that is if your birthing at North Shore Hospital as I am). I totally know what you mean about the panic attacks, its dawned on me over the last week exactly what I'm getting myself into, and I'm worried about how I'm going to cope with 2. And by coincidence my closed family is my sister out in Titirangi, I wish I had family closer.

Hi Debbie, yes due same day and yes Im birthing at North Shore .. whats the chances of being there at the same time .. I havent been to check it out yet .. I think they have a birthing pool there? We've family and own a place out at Huia (which we are in the middle of renovating .. great timing as Im about as useful as the proverbial boobies on the bull .. )
I have decided that I am worrying too much about the future and I should just enjoy each day at a time and not worry about things that may or may not happen :)...
Another question Ive got is how much do you talk to your midwife about stuff .. just keep it clinical and physical or can you tell her about how youre 'feeling' etc ... last time around I just had visits to the GP so once again .. tis all new to me ...

I am game to put my 28 week up (although a wee while to go and I already feel huge)
I am 33 and feel like an 'older' mother. Nice though as I know what I am getting myself in for and the kids can share alot more of the 'process' of pregnancy and birth - although they are not going to be at the birth I think they would stress me too much.
Got scan results from Midwife and all is fine. Said its going to have long legs as all the measurements measured to my Due date but legs were almost 2 weeks ahead. I am tall so is my hubby and welll my 13 year old is probably 6 ft now so not like i expected a shortie. (no offence)
we are busy getting spare room sorted for Josh (13) so the baby can have his room as smaller and closer to us. Just got the carpet to go which is this week. And now we have taken on with my parents to do up their rental to sell. All rooms need painting and wallpapering I have been given the job of 'colour' person. So I have gone and said for selling value netural is the best. Any ideas?
Okay here I am rambling so hope alls well with you all.

I had a meeting with my psych nurse today (I have postnatal depression) and she's really pleased with my progress. Raewyn said I'm doing really well, and is going to organise for my home help to continue on for a little while longer. I've caught up with the dishes, and I've been staying on top of them pretty well this week... there's a mountain of clean washing to sort and fold, but we can live with that as there is NOT a mountain of dirty washing to do as well! I've cleared off the dining table, and Nat is really pleased with me!
It's all good!

Well done Becca, my dishes and laundry never seem to disappear. It's really good to hear that you're able to get the help you need, you should be proud of yourself.
Jaz and I are full of a cold, and it looks like DH is coming down with it too poor thing. DH had the day off yesterday so took over and sent me to bed. He cooked, cleaned and looked after Jaz all day which was wonderful, my first day off in 18 months.
Just came back from MW appointment, everything is alright except some protein showing up on the test stick, but I'm going try and not read too much into that. Have a form for blood tests, including the lovely diabetes one, what fun.
Hope everyone is doing well, catch you all later.

Hey Ann, You're not an older mother yet!!! A friend of mine found out on her 40th birthday that they were expecting their much wanted wee boy (after four rounds of IVF), then thought she would be the oldest mum around and was surprised to find out she's about average in her coffee group! Don't worry, the 'kids' doing the pregnancy and baby thing will all look about 10 years older after a couple of weeks of sleepless nights. I think everyone hits a median visual age of about 35 with a newborn.
Becca, there is a mountain of clean washing at our place to fold too. Andrew's just worked out how to pull things out of baskets (and drawers, however thankfully not out of the fish tank yet for the fishies sake) so the house is a mine field of clean washing. I caught him wearing a pair of my hubbies undies on his head yesterday. At least they were clean. Good to hear that your recovery is progressing well. Depression is a hard one to shake (the force (depression) is strong in my family - in my best jedi voice) and I know that self doubt is one of the worst side effects of it. Oh - and happy days tomorrow when you are down to double figures on the ticker!!!

Hey hey ladies TGIF!!!!!!!
Roll on the weekend Kids sport and house renovations .. roofing, cladding and more sanding ... yay!
AnnC - Neutral colours are all good in rentals- lets people decorate with their own colours in Art, furnature, rugs etc ... we've gone mostly for the resene 'linen' colour for the bedrooms, and a clotted cream in the lounge for our rental.
How are we all? Swelling nicely? My hands, feet, and bags under my eyes are .. Ive had the first attack of pimples since I was 15 .. chin pimples .. oh happy joy ... my 16 year old and I are having pimple sympathy sessions hehe ... my skin is going to the pack Where is the wonderful preggy bloooooom thing people talk about
Becca what a lovely belly you have
One more week then its the 28 week piccy Debbie
I noticed the other day that my line (dont know what you call it but its the 'zipper' line from the belly button to the pelvic bone) ... my line is ... totally off centre .. crooked!! Freak! as my 13 year old would say ...
Oh and Becca - with my second baby ... I was soooooo not with it ... didnt cope very well at all in the beginning ... I used to hide my dishes in the oven when people came over haha ... Well done on the big ups!
Im starting to notice that baby boy loves to wake up and breakdance between 10-11.30pm ... quite a regular pattern now .. and Im wondering if wake time patterns continue after birth?
Midwife appointment next week ... cant wait to hear boys heart again ...
Rock on week 28

Hello,
I just typed a big post, and then lost it! Ohhh man!!!!
Well, I havent been able to get on here much lately. I'm in the process of training a new staff member to do my job when I go on maternity leave, and figure that I probably shouldnt do too much internet surfing. Gotta set a good example and all that... I'm not planning on finishing work until late october, but we wanted to allow heaps of time for her to get used to things, before I wind up.
Speaking of which, I just read the website about maternity leave yesterday, and discovered that you have to lodge a written letter of advice that you intend on taking maternity leave, 3 MONTHS, before your due date. Hopefully, your all a lot more onto it than I am, and have already done it. I must get my act into gear soon, cos I need to submit it by 22 August!
I'm game to share my 28 wk bump photo, but that still a way off for me, since I'm only just 24 wks now. I might try and share a 24 wk bump photo like becca, if I can find time to download the photo next week...
Suzie, I can well and trulely sympathyise with you on the "not glowing during pregnancy look" I've got a serious pimple problem going on at present too! Arrrhhh, the joys of hormones eh?
Well, I hope your all keeping well, and your bumps are growing nicely, but not getting too uncomfortable just yet!

The letter to your employer, with a letter from your midwife/carer attached stating what date your baby is due....
Then theres other forms that you need to fill in and submit to the government for the paid leave, but that can be done after you have sumbitted to your boss....

Afternoons are a good time. Friday afternoons are even better. Or by email with a written copy on their desk offering to be happy to discuss at their convenience. (I used to manage a team of staff and know all of the bad-news avoidance tactics ) The afternoons are a good way of avoiding a full day of silence about the topic and email is a nice cop-out non-communication, communication method. Ah well, best of luck anyway. It's all in employment law so should you have any problems, get onto the Employment Relations Helpline straight away to help you out!!!

I have got the letter typed up and the cert from midwife but keep fogetting to give it to manager. She know when I plan to leave (nov 10th) but I know by law we have to give written - must make a mental note to give it to her on monday. I also have to contact Ird (or winz unsure who handles it) about the maternity leave as at my work I will most probably get a bonus and it is awarded at the start of October but not paid out till mid dec which is when I am on maternity leave and area manager said she had to pay all her maternity leave back as it was classed as income. So just want to see what is best... if can wait till after bonus payment to go on maternity leave???? Anyone else had similar probs in past?
I have a friend who has post natal depression. She was getting really good but then her body got use to the drugs and had a bout of it. She said she thought she was going mad.. She would like another child but I think her husband is against it because of the depression.
Oh and I have booked in for a 3d/4d scan in hamilton (don't so it here in Taranaki) can't wait it is on the 8th sept. My boss has been really good and let me take domesticleave for it (as really shoul dof been unpaid or annual) Will post the pick after have it.
Hope alls well with all....
Ps thanks all for the advise. We are going with nutrual tones. Gosh busy weekend ahead....

I have been a little bit up and down the past few days at work and so have been blaming that but thought what if it somethign else - everything else seems fine the baby kicking etc.... Did knicker check - nothing... I guess its just belly stretching more but boy it can hurt sometimes...

Ann, if the pains are on the sides of your belly in a similar place to where you'd get the stitch, then they probably are stretching pains.
As for me... I've been getting definite Braxton Hicks for the last couple of weeks but the last couple of days, there's been the odd painful one thrown in for a change... Not so good when Josiah chooses that moment to jump on me!
