Im making the plunge, because they are just so gorgeous!

So my question is how do you choose what brand/style????? theres so many out there!

To start with i would probably just use them at home and at night, he is quite a heavy wetter and will leak out of disposables if not changed early morning. Would cloth absorb more than disposables?

depending on what you use, cloth will definetly solve your night dilemma    I've had Novella in one nappy for 12 hours since she was around 12weeks.. means we only use max of 6 nappies in 24 hours..

Brand/style really depends on what you're looking for in a nappy (eg. ease of use - probably All-in-ones lie this http://ittibitti.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=116&zenid=c66050eb86a5c5fe2ef55507130f273f - itti bitti AIO ;
quick drying - pockets like this http://www.honeychild.co.nz/Info/Getting%20Started/Why%20Honey%20Child%20Nappies - honeychild pockets ;
cost effective - prefolds & covers like this http://www.bumbles.co.nz/products/Bummis-Super-Brite-Wrap.html - bummis wraps - Bumbles

There is other options as well like fitteds & covers.. really just depends like I said on what you're looking for in a cloth nappy.

Also other option can you sew?? They are lots of different patterns for making your own and that works out alot cheaper - I am going to learn how to make them in soon Or can someone you know make them?

I suggest you pop over to the nappy network site - there is a ton of info and lots of reviews on the different brands available..

http://www.thenappynetwork.org.nz/ - TNN

HTH.. and good luck its so worth it.. I've saved a ton of $$ already! And a colourful bum is really cute!

Edited to add - another option is trawling TM and buying a few second hand naps to see whether they suit Brennan as some nappies don't fit some babies very well.

Thank you for that! Im just coming to grips with all the terminology. Im thinking im going to pick up a few singles off trademe and find what i like best.

Im liking the look of an AIO, dont really mind about drying times at this stage.

Oh no not bad at all - really just depends which way you look at things..
I for one am now more excited about getting a new nappy than I am when I get a new piece of clothing for myself

Its alot to take in, but it is a good idea to get some off TM first.. also if you get something and you have problems, do ask for advice.. If you get pockets for instance it can be as simple as adding more absorbency if you're getting leaks or nap maybe too small/big for instance. You can have teething problems but once you find a system/s that work you'll be away! We haven't had a leak since the very early days when Hubby wasn't putting them on right Now he's a pro!

Have fun shopping - its veeeeeery addictive

Blair is in cloth part-time, something that I have done on and off since he was 10 months old. I have 3 different types here, including a number of homemade ones - using the pattern on TNN. If you are wanting to have a look at what I've got for ideas, pm me

I use a mix of pockets and AIO's. Once I figured out how easy they were to make, I have made around 8 AIO's. I love them and no it's not crazy to get excited about it, I do too
