Have a look at the website where your birthing and where you will be doing your subsequent stay and they will be able to tell you what they provide, otherwise give the maternity suite a call if its not on the website.

We took food, which DP kept offering to me when I was not interested, but you know what at the end of a long labour and 24hrs of not eating it was SO handy to have on there and not have to wait for the hospital to get round to giving me food. Also to have at birthcare it was handy as you get your bfast/lunch/dinner, but I was mukkah hungry lol so it was all used! Especially since DP was there from 8am-8pm so he had things to snack on as well.

i took hardly anything to tell the truth. i planned on coming home same day but as far as labour i had changes of clothes, togs (never used) a pack of muesli bars for DH, my own toothbrush and a laptop with lots of DVD's that i had already seen as i didnt care how much i missed by not paying attention and a camera. in a back up bag i had just in case i was forced to stay in for any reason i had more changes of clothes and a toilet bag. i ddnt see the point in packing a heap of stuff and to be honest i never missed any of it

ETA: totatally forgot to mention baby. lol. took 2 changes of clothes for him including hats, booties, a blanket and some nappies

We packed food for DP but he left it in the car!! We were both pretty hungry after bubs arrived. In my bag I had a toilet kit, knickers, sarong, jammies and sanitry pads. For bubs we had a few changes and soft gowns, socks, booties, hats. Also had the camera and video camera.
My mum bought me magazines but it was about 2 months before I even looked at them.

The only thing I needed was a change of clothes, undies, toothbrush, hairbrush and wheat bag lol. I had a meal at the hospital before they broke my waters.

I too packed heaps of stuff which I didn't use.

I packed food too, didn't eat during labour but during my stay in the hospital it was good. Although of course dh had to bring me more lol. Umm...plenty of pairs of knickers, comfy clothes and pjs, and toiletries for me, and a book to read (had an epi so lay and read my book while in labour lol, and when Stu was sleeping during the day after he was born). Pretty much everything was provided for baby at hospital so just something to wear home and some disposable nappies (they had old fashioned cloth flats which I was fully prepared to use...but I was too scared to put a safety pin near him!) Oh and camera of course, and dh had his laptop and an aircard lol.

I packed alot of stuff for me and bubs that I never used. Cody just lived in nappies, hat and cotton t-shirt for the two nights we were there.
Diffiently take food and drinks. You may not be interested in food while in labour but believe me you will be wanting afterwards.

I packed three bags and didn't use any of it except the lime juice for my water bottle lol. I even took a Portable DVD player as I was being induced. Little did I know lol.

Don't fuss too much. Wear the hospital gown and use what they have. less you need to wash when you get home and most of it has to go in the bin anyway.

I took my pillow. It was the one thing that made me comfy on those awful beds.
