Done a bit of a search but i guess theres so many different ways of spelling diarrhea

Anyway I suspect Brennan is teething, his first bottom tooth has just cut through, and hes also had a cold. Now he has really bad diarrhea and is getting a rash and is so grumpy. Im just wondering how long does the runny poos normaly last, im just a little worried as hes not eating as much and he has done about 6 poos in the last 12hrs (normally he goes 1 every 3days) Hes had the diarrhea since sunday night

When is it 'too much' runny poos??

ahh the charming things we have to worry about...

My bubs is teething too - and the poos are soft and sloppy! She is just over 10 months and cutting a 2nd tooth. I had 6 the other day and daycare tell me she had a very very very messy one today (she almost got sent home). When she is teething her poos are soft for a few days. She had norovirus a couple of weeks ago with diarrhea and this lasted for about a week (sorry) does it have a acid smell? We have issues with feeding too she takes in more solids than formula (maybe 500mls) today has been better as the tooth is down abit further. For the nappy rash I found that frequent nappy changes helped, wiping with a flannel - not wipes and applying cream it cleared up well within 24 hours. I have been using Neurofen to help with the grumps (just for night if she wakes after 12.30 normally) unfortunately there isn't much you can do to stop the poos - things like potatoes, bread help to clog again! Good luck.

ah ok so it is normal for it to last a few days. Just worried he had a tummy bug or something.

When DS is teething.he will do loads of really smelly, sloppy poos.I can always tell the dif because they have a diferent smell.Sometimes it will go on for a week or so.When he was getting his eye teeth it was extremely bad and he got such bad nappy rash his bum was bleeding, poor little man!

Hi Huntd - we had a dentist lady come and speak at our baby group, and she said there is no such thing as teething relating diahorrea(sp?) - I think bull - she should come and see Brooke on a teething day!!

TMI- usually on a non-teething day it is about 1-2 dirty naps - not too offensive.  Teething days are a few days in a row with sloppy dirty nappies and a different smell (gag!) - about 4-5 times a day here.

I find that on teething days Brooke drinks less and sometimes refuses to eat.

Just watch the Nurofen - it shouldn't be taken by someone who may be dehydrated - ie not taking in enough liquids.  Pamol is probably safer for this reason.  (That's what I give as a last resort).
