Hiya just wondering if anyone can give me a bit of advice.....Brooke is 7mths and has absolutely no desire to crawl but is really keen and confident at walking.if you hold her fingers she will take all her own weight and walk from room to room and loves it.Everyone thinks its real clever but am wondering if I should be discouraging it and trying to encourage her to crawl more....isnt it important to crawl before walk????is it a big deal

From what I've heard there are a few kids who walk before they crawl and some start walking and then go back to crawling for a while or just walk and have no desire! I think the biggie with crawling is that they use both sides of thebrain or something??
In my eyes if she wants to walk then that is great!! Arna is 2 now and she still crawls sometimes!!

Arrg 7 months and walking, I'd discourage it lmao.. she'll be up to mischeif in no time! hehe
seriously though, I think Janine (mum2paris) knows about the crawling thing, oh yeah, http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2736&PN=1 - link here
I'm not too sure myself..Ella crawled at 7.5 months and walked at 13.5.

i never crawled according to my parents, i apparently ran then walked...my brother was the same.
I wouldnt stress about it, each baby is going to develop and grow at their own pace, and if she wants to walk and not crawl, i say good on her, it just means that you are going to be on the go earlier than you possibly thought.
Yahhh how exciting

I have the same problem with Xanda, he wants to walk, actually I think he really just wants to move. But this week he has just started to inch his way forward in the crawling position. He will be crawling by the time we come back from America I think.

i think let her do what she wants, if u discourage it, it might get really confusing for her, especially when u do want her to walk-she might think shes not supposed to.
No babies text book, and they all develop differently .
of course if she does walk, its been nice knowing ya! lol since ull be chasing baby all day hehe
