Hi
I'm off to Brisbane in a couple of weeks so my sister can meet DS. Apparently they've been having temperatures of around 30'
DS will be 12 weeks, so although he seems to have grown heaps to me, really he will still be quite little. I'm assuming too little for sunscreen?
I will obviously keep him in the shade as much as possible (all the time if I can!) and I guess he may need more feeds as he will probably get thirstier than usual. Aside from that, what else do I need to think about? Not sure what to dress him in cause I want to protect his skin from the sun, but don't want to cook him. Would a cotton bodysuit (I'm thinking the ones that have arms and legs, don't know if 'bodysuit' is the right term, AIO?) be too hot?
Thanks

They do kids sunscreen although im not sure what age its suitable for.
Issy was a summer baby and covered arms and legs was too hot for any time other than first thing in the morning, she usually wore short sleeved bodysuits and cotton pants (like the nature baby ones) or shorts.
She never got burnt but obviously she wasnt in full sun for long periods of time

I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year http://www.femininefitness.co.nz/category/blog - LFs weight blog

Hey
Coppertone 'Waterbabies' sunscreen sounds like it would be a good buy for you. Also T&T have some bodysuits at the moment which are holey ( if that makes sense.)
Have a good trip :)

Arianne was born in summer and we just kept her in a nappy and wrap, maybe a tank top type bodysuit will be fine.
He will be fine for kids sunscreen just incase Arianne used it and it didn't do anything to her.
Have a great trip!

Kust remember if you put him in his buugy and put the sunshade on that it tends to act like a sunhouse and it gets very hot in the buggy.
I was over there in Jan and just put my boy in a nappy and sometimes a tshirt. I kept him out of the sun.

Rowan lived in singlets and nappies during summer (born in Dec) and yes, did increase her feeds especially mid afternoon.
Just keep him out of the sun where-ever possible.
I think even children's sunscreen is not recommended for under 6 months but I could be wrong there. We just kept Rowan in the shade and she never needed it.

Bailey was 4 months when we went to brisbane (in feb so quite hot!) when at home he lived in his nappy and out an about was in a nappy and single with a hat and sunscreen
we also had a fan in our room and was on by us during the day. and just constantly gave me milk - smaller amounts more frequently

Thanks guys
I was thinking keeping him totally covered would be too hot. Sounds like most of my luggage allowance will just be nappies then, and clothes for me
I'm really excited, and my sister is so clucky already (wonder if she will be after 16 days with us lol).
